DFS WR vs. CB Matchup to Exploit in Week 5 (Fantasy Football)
I break up this WR/CB article into a couple of categories: Alpha WRs, Slot Mavens, Discount Target Specials, and Full-On Fades. The goal is to go from the top-tier stars to move down to bargain WRs with excellent matchups. As always, make sure you use the tools found in the DFS Pass such as the Value Comparison and Buzz Report to discern which WR would be best in cash and tournament lineup builds.
Alpha WRs
Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen are both projected for less than 10% roster percentage, yet the Vikings host the Lions at home in a dome favored by 8.5 points. Jefferson and Thielen should see a bunch of Bobby Price and Amani Oruwariye in coverage…who?! For those keeping track at home, Bobby Price went undrafted in 2020 and Oruwariye was a 5th round pick in 2019. Jefferson plays about 70% of his snaps out wide, and that’s exactly where these two corners play for Detroit’s 30th ranked pass DVOA defense. Price is getting picked on a lot by opposing offenses, as he’s being targeted on 26% of his routes covered. Why? Because he’s getting burnt for 2.49 yards per route covered, 5th worst according to PFF. I slightly prefer Jefferson this week, but both WRs should feast on this terrible CB duo.
