DFS Vegas Report for Week 1
Each week we’ll preview the five most important games from a Vegas total perspective and how to attack each game in DFS. I’ll highlight which players are the most stackable, who are recommended cash and GPP plays, and who looks like they should be faded.

Las Vegas Raiders @ Carolina Panthers, O/U: 47.5
On the surface, this matchup looks like it might lack fireworks when you consider the stigma surrounding the QBs, checkdown king Derek Carr, and game manager Teddy Bridgewater, but think again. Last season, the Panthers hit the over in 11 of their 16 games and posted a top-five pace of play in 2019. With Joe Brady in town, don’t expect the offense to slow down much at all after his LSU offense posted a whopping 72 plays per game. This game environment could potentially create extra possessions for Teddy B, CMC, and the pass catchers (shoutout to Curtis Samuel for our guy, Kyle the Borgogan).
On the Raiders’ side of the ball, the Vegas offensive line projects to be a top 10 unit taking on a Carolina defense who ranked 26th in the NFL in rush DVOA. Josh Jacobs should be able to pick up chunk yardage with ease in this matchup, and while Derek Carr isn’t fantasy’s sexiest QB, he’ll take on a defensive unit that just lost its best player in Luke Kuechly, it’s sack leader in Mario Addison, and its top CB in James Bradberry. Derek Carr should have time in the pocket to pick apart this defense and help keep the game going back and forth. This game has sneaky shootout appeal, creating an opportunity for a game stack.
