Game Outlook
Week 9 kicks off with a Steelers/Titans matchup that projects to feel like the most ‘Thursday Night Football’ matchup of all time. No game in Week 9 carries a lower total than the current 36.5 line on most books, and this one was bet down a half point early in the week after it opened at 37. Nevertheless, there’s money to be made here, so let’s dive in!
The Titans have announced Will Levis will make his second career start after torching the Falcons for four TD passes a week ago. In that Week 8 matchup, the Titans only logged a 43% neutral pass rate, the fifth-lowest mark on the week. From a season-long standpoint, they rank middle of the pack with a 56% neutral pass rate and have the eighth lowest pass rate over expectation. A run first offense, the Titans definitely didn’t ask Levis to do much in his first start, but he was ultra efficient, averaging over 8 YPA on 29 attempts. With this game projected to play close as the spread indicates, we should largely expect a run-first approach from the Titans on a short week.
