Before we get into the specifics of this matchup and how to approach it for the DraftKings showdown slate, I want to point people back to a few pieces of evergreen content that I think are extremely valuable if you’re serious about winning showdown all season. DraftKings Sportsbook Lines
Spread: DEN -3.5
Total: 42.5
Team Totals: Broncos (23.0), Colts (19.5)
Game Outlook
Matt Ryan and the Colts travel to Denver to take on Russell Wilson and the Broncos in a game featuring a lowly 42.5 total. When you look at how these offenses have performed this year, it’s not surprising to see the total dropping close to 40 p0ints. Indy has yet to hit their implied team total this year while the Broncos have only hit theirs once. In other words, both offenses are struggling and are performing below expectation, at least according to the smart folks out in Vegas. The main storyline here is the health of Jonathan Taylor on a short week after he exited Week 4 with ankle and toe injuries. With Taylor out, our player pool will expand with more options to utilize out of the Indy backfield. Through four weeks, JT has handled 89% of the RB carries for Indy while also seeing a healthy 10.7% target share. His absence opens up plenty of usage for the Colts.
