Conference Championship GPP Picks on FanDuel
Quarterbacks
Tom Brady vs JAC $9,000
Even with a tough matchup against the Jaguars, Brady is the QB you should have most confidence in this weekend. He’s been to 12 of the last 17 AFC Championship games. The rest of the three quarterbacks left have a combined five playoff starts. Two of them are getting their first taste of the playoffs this time around. In fact, Brady has as many Super Bowl rings as those guys have playoff starts. Brady finished this season ranked first in passing yards and attempts. Second in completions, third in passing touchdowns, and third in fantasy points. The Jaguars defense allowed a league-best 169.9 passing yards per game. This is the fourth meeting between the number one passer and the number one pass defense in a playoff game since 1990, and the number 1 pass defense is 3-0 in those games. This feels different, though, as it’s Brady and Bill Belichick. The pass rush will give Brady a hard time, but he’ll adjust, and the game plan will most likely be to get the ball out quick.
Blake Bortles @ NE $7,600
Bortles looked much better in his second playoff game than his first. In his first he had more rushing yards than passing yards, and the team only let him throw the ball once in the second half. Last week Bortles had 214 yards passing, and did not turn the football over. In both games, he ended up with 16 FanDuel points. Not a fantastic number, but a solid one. Bortles has hit at least 16 points in 10 of his last 12 starts. He’s also shown that part of the Jaguars plan on offense is for Bortles to pass in play action, and to run the football. He has 123 rushing yards in his two playoff games, on 15 attempts. He may also be forced to throw a bit more, if NE is indeed up in this football game. I lean these two QB’s in cash, because it’s a higher total, and the Eagles and Vikings game has low scoring written all over it.
