Biggest Studs
Alvin Kamara (RB | Saints)
Week 16 vs MIN: 22 rushes for 155 yards & 6 TD | 3 receptions on 5 targets for 17 yards
Kamara had 55 (FIFTY FIVE!) points this weekend. That’s the most fantasy points scored by any player since Jamaal Charles in Week 15 of the 2013 season. If you played Alvin Kamara in the Championship, chances are that you came away with a #FootClanTitle. Kamara is the MVP of Week 16.
Davante Adams (WR | Packers)
Week 16 vs TEN: 11 receptions on 12 targets for 142 yards & 3 TD
Davante Adams is a cheat code. He’s the clear cut fantasy MVP to me in 2020. His season was unfathomable. Prior to 2020, Antonio Brown had the best wide receiver fantasy season of the last decade with 294 points. Davante Adams finished the 2020 fantasy season with 287 fantasy points. IN TWO FEWER GAMES THAN ANTONIO BROWN HAD! Davante Adams is unstoppable. He has the same number of fantasy games with >26 points as Patrick Mahomes and one more than Aaron Rodgers. Again…IN TWO FEWER GAMES.
Mike Evans (WR) & Tom Brady (QB)
M Evans: Week 16 @ DET: 10 receptions on 12 targets for 181 yards & 2 TD
T Brady: Week 16 @ DET: 22 receptions on 27 attempts for 348 yards & 4 TD
Brady and Evans went OFF this week. Brady put up an incredible stat line…IN ONE HALF OF FOOTBALL. He was benched for the backup after his monster first-half performance. Meanwhile, Evans brought home the championship to many fantasy players, including my opponent in a dynasty league. Brady was Andy’s start of the week, and he paid off big. If you started Evans AND Brady in the playoffs, it’s almost guaranteed that you brought home a championship title.
Biggest Stinkers
D’Andre Swift
Week 16 vs TB: 10 rushes for 45 yards | 4 receptions on 5 targets for 25 yards | 1 fumble
I am a huge fan of D’Andre Swift, and I expected a top-12 week against a defense that has been friendly to pass-catching backs. He disappointed fantasy GM’s this weekend, but I blame the situation instead of the player. He averaged 4.5 yards per carry and had four receptions. The Lions’ coaching staff was a mess with Matt Patricia fired and several other coaches on the Covid-IR list and unable to attend the game. Meanwhile, Stafford left due to injury. Swift faced a stout TB defense and was actually pretty productive considering the circumstances, but his opportunities were limited. It stinks for the fantasy playoffs (speaking firsthand), but this also means that he will be a STEAL in 2021 fantasy drafts. Consider yourself warned.
Countless other fantasy players
Le’Veon Bell, Josh Jacobs, DeAndre Hopkins, Tyreek Hill, A.J. Brown, D.K. Metcalf, Robert Woods, Brandon Aiyuk, Robert Tonyan, & T.J. Hockenson were among the stinkers that I felt very confident about this weekend. If you lost, just rest assured that luck is inherently a huge part of fantasy football. Onto next year.
