The best part of fantasy football is winning #FootClan titles.  No question.  The second-best thing about fantasy football is drafting.  But if there’s a third good thing about fantasy football, it’s mock drafts! (mock…yeah!).  With fantasy drafts and eventual #FootClan titles fast approaching, its time to mock draft.  Andy, Mike and Jason tackle a 12-team .5 PPR draft this week, you can check out the Live Mock Draft podcast here.

Round 1, Pick 9

Players Considered: DeAndre Hopkins, Odell Beckham Jr.
Selection: Melvin Gordon, RB
Melvin Gordon represents the last RB in a tier in this spot.  He becomes the clear choice, though the stud WRs are tempting.

Round 2, Pick 4

Players Considered: Davante Adams, Dalvin Cook, Devonta Freeman
Selection: Keenan Allen, WR
JUST missed on Christian McCaffrey in the second round (selected 2.03).  Though there’s 0% concern with the double trouble Los Angeles Chargers stack, Allen is a stud that you can’t pass on here.

Round 3, Pick 9

Players Considered: Adam Thielen, Amari Cooper
Selection: Doug Baldwin, WR
The RB draft board has thinned out with Jay Ajayi representing the top of that pile.  Doug Baldwin will be the primary option in his offense and he’s the pick here.

Round 4, Pick 4

Players Considered: Mark Ingram, Kerryon Johnson, Rex Burkhead
Selection: Marshawn Lynch, RB
Sniped again!  Jay Ajayi didn’t make it back, and the Footballers immediately regretted not going 2 RBs early.  By a 2-1 vote, Lynch gets added to the squad.

Round 5, Pick 9

Players Considered: Corey Davis, Alshon Jeffery
Selection: Dion Lewis, RB
After a big run on WRs, Rex Burkhead and Dion Lewis have fallen.  With plenty of depth remaining at the WR position, the selection is Dion Lewis.  Judge Giamatti approved.

Round 6, Pick 4

Players Considered: Russell Wilson, Trey Burton, Julian Edelman
Selection: Alshon Jeffery, WR
Comfortable with the waiting on QB strategy, Russell Wilson was not tempting enough here to dissuade adding the depth at WR.

Round 7, Pick 9

Players Considered: Trey Burton, Peyton Barber, Jamaal Williams
Selection: Emmanuel Sanders, WR
A big run on QB has pushed quality skill position players, proof of concept for the late round QB strategy.  Looking at the 3 teams that pick before 8.04, it looks like TEs will make it back.  More depth at WR it is, just in case Jeffery isn’t ready to start the season.

Round 8, Pick 4

Players Considered: (none)
Selection: Trey Burton, TE
TE roulette has paid off, Trey Boo-Boo is a great value in the 8th Round.

Round 9, Pick 9

Players Considered: Matthew Stafford, Peyton Barber, Nelson Agholor
Selection: Corey Clement, RB
The 3rd Philadelphia Eagles player gets added to the team.  The upside of Clement outweighed the “starter” status of Barber.

Round 10, Pick 4

Players Considered: Patrick Mahomes, Alex Smith
Selection: Ben Roethlisberger, QB
The QB field is starting to thin out, which means it is time to pounce on a value.  Big Ben fits that bill.

Round 11, Pick 9

Players Considered: Bilal Powell
Selection: Rob Kelley, RB
The option of drafting 2 QBs from which to stream was talked about but ultimately rejected in favor of RB reinforcements to fill out the bench.

Round 12, Pick 4

Players Considered: (none)
Selection: Bilal Powell, RB
An underrated player in drafts, Blah Plow will be available for you late in drafts to provide flex value.  This also means that this squad is RB heavy, but considering the value and scarcity at the position, this is acceptable.

Round 13, Pick 9

Selection: Carolina Panthers, D/ST

Round 14, Pick 4

Selection: Mason Crosby, K
