Meglabowl drafts will be starting this weekend, but this isn’t a draft experience like any other. Mando, who is one of the Legendary Mods for the Ballers Discord, has been hosting live mock draft events with Footclan members. Yes, meaning all 12 spots filled with real people to draft against. Needless to say that this is the most accurate mock draft experience you could get – and we have the data to give you the edge in your Megalabowl draft.
As we rapidly approach the start of the Megalabowl drafts everyone is asking the same question, “how do I win this thing?”
Business As Usual
In The Megalabowl there will be 6 teams that make it to the Playoffs from each 12-person league. You just need to give yourself a chance. You can take a balanced team building approach in the draft and start off like any other redraft league – then make your trades and waiver acquisitions leading up to the playoffs to give yourself a shot to win it all Week 17. Just make sure you get into the playoffs first.
The Megalabowl and other Footclan leagues do present a different challenge though – drafting with like-minded people who are listening to the same advice you are. This can lead to certain players being drafted higher, ADP changes for entire position groups, and affect your leagues waiver wire and trades throughout the season. But with these challenges comes a league full of competition, fun, and relationships.
But besides crushing the draft against this heightened competition with the Ultimate Draft Kit, we are going to dive deeper into Footclan drafts specifically to set you up for the best Megalabowl draft this year. We looked at Footclan Mock Draft for this season to find out what trends stick out that will lead you to developing a dominant draft strategy.
The My Guy Bump
As we saw last year, each one of the My Guys was drafted ahead of ADP in a big way. Mocks. It may be bold to have so many rookies chosen as My Guys, but the Footclan is bought in.
McMillian, Hampton, Warren, Henderson, Egbuka are all drafted at least a round earlier. Even at the top of the draft we see Kittle and Brown drafted well before their ADP.
| Player | Footclan ADP | Sleeper ADP | Difference | |
| Andy | ||||
| Jameson Williams | WR | 5.02 | 5.10 | -8 |
| Omarion Hampton | RB | 3.03 | 4.03 | -12 |
| Tyler Warren | TE | 7.08 | 9.06 | -22 |
| Mike | ||||
| Chase Brown | RB | 2.10 | 3.04 | -6 |
| TreVeyon Henderson | RB | 4.04 | 6.03 | -23 |
| Tetairoa McMillan | WR | 5.01 | 6.01 | -12 |
| Jason | ||||
| George Kittle | TE | 3.07 | 4.02 | -7 |
| George Pickens | RB | 5.04 | 6.02 | -10 |
| Emeka Egbuka | WR | 6.04 | 10.09 | -53 |
Positional Draft Trends
This may be abstract and does have nuances that I won’t get too far in the weeds with. But on average Running Backs tend to be picked more frequently and above their ADP in rounds 1 through 8. This seemingly has been the case for as long as I can remember in The Megalabowl, that Runningbacks are hard to find and everyone know this and stocks up.
Wide receivers stayed closer to their normal ADP distribution, but Rounds 3 & 4 there seems to be a dead zone. In that dead zone, those Wide Receivers saw a cumulative 41 spot difference later than their total ADPs.
Quarterbacks
Every single Quarterback was taken later than ADP in our mocks. Drake Maye came in at as the only Quarterback being drafted at all close to his ADP. I believe it is safe to say that you should see Quarterbacks, even Lamar/Allen being selected later.
Tight End
Besides the Big 3 (Bowers, McBride, Kittle), drafters have been waiting on the position and scoping up value later on.
| Position | Cumulative (Rounds 1-8) |
| Running Back | -289 |
| Wide Receiver | -13 (41) |
| Quarterback | 170 |
| Tight End | 14 |
You don’t win your league at the draft.
But – drafting with a sound strategy and making informed picks will set you up for success in the Megalabowl. You may feel pressure to rush to a great record early in the Megalabowl but this is a season-long contest and you only need to beat half your league to make it to the playoffs and give yourself a chance to become the infamous Megalabowl Champion.

FLY Eagles!:-)
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. “You don’t have to tell me,” I said. “I’m off the team, aren’t I?” “Well,” said Coach, “you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you’re wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times.” It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that’s when I felt the handcuffs go on.
