NFL Week 2 Weather Conditions (Fantasy Football)
Week 1 came in and out with a few weather impacts. However, most of those issues were lightning-related, which caused game delays rather than impacts on the players themselves. Can we keep the string of (relatively) good weather going? Read ahead and find out!
Beforehand, if you haven’t read this article by Matt Disorbo: “Whether Weather Really Matters,” then you are not getting the full picture and data on weather in football games. Take some time and give it a read.
Week 2, here we come!
Sunday Early Afternoon Games
Jacksonville Jaguars @ Cincinnati Bengals
LOW impact. It’s looking to be a great day for football in Cincinnati. There will be mostly sunny skies, light winds, and game-time temps will be in the mid-80s. Start all your studs.
Los Angeles Rams @ Tennessee Titans
LOW impact. Another game with more good weather. Expect sunny skies with light winds throughout the entirety of the game. This one will be pretty warm, with high temperatures in the low-90s. We may see a few additional hydration breaks for some players, but that’s no reason to bench anyone.
New England Patriots @ Miami Dolphins
MEDIUM impact. There’s a 40% chance of rain in and around the area during game time. There are also some potential thunderstorms. Now, game time, and as we’ve seen from other games this year, any thunderstorm that pops up will cause the game to be delayed. However, the rain does slightly concern me. I would downgrade the WRs in the game and upgrade any RBs you have. Not expecting persistent rain, so there will still be opportunities for WRs, but they will be more limited compared to other games.
LOW impact. A beautiful day for football in the north-east. Winds will be in the single digits, some clouds, no rain, and temperatures in the low-80s. No concerns here at all, start your usual suspects.
Seattle Seahawks @ Pittsburgh Steelers
LOW impact. May I present the “Good Weather Game of the Week” to you, dear reader? This is it! Mostly clear, high in the lower 80s, and a light wind. You couldn’t ask for much better! Maybe the increased sunlight will help Kenneth Walker recharge? Here’s hoping!
Cleveland Browns @ Baltimore Ravens
LOW impact. Why break the streak of (mostly) beautiful morning games? Another mostly clear game, no rain, light winds, and temperatures in the mid-80s. Start all your studs and watch some magic happen.
Sunday Late Afternoon Games
Philadelphia Eagles @ Kansas City Chiefs
LOW impact. There will be slightly stronger winds, but they will still be in the low teens and high single digits. No rain expected during gametime. Start all your studs and enjoy the rematch!
Best of luck in your week ahead!
