NFL Week 16 Weather Conditions (Fantasy Football)
Congratulations on advancing to the next round of the playoffs! Or, better luck next year! Either way, below is the weather for this weekend’s slate of games. We are in full-blown December mode now, so you can expect some cold games out there (except games in Miami).
Remember that weather is just one part of the giant decision-making process that is setting your fantasy lineup. Weather shouldn’t be the only factor, but it is one that you need to know to have the advantage!
Saturday Games
Houston Texans @ Kansas City Chiefs
LOW impact. It’s going to be a cold one (get used to seeing the word COLD in this article), but winds will be light and there will be no rain. High temperature during game time will be in the mid-30s
Pittsburgh Steelers @ Baltimore Ravens
MEDIUM impact. Aside from the cold temps (expected around 35° during the game), there will also be decently strong wind in the area. Sustained speeds in the mid-teens with gusts up to the low 30s. With those speeds, Chris Boswell and Justin Tucker managers will have some more risk, especially with those longer kicks. We’ve seen Boswell deal with this kind of wind this season, so stick with him. There’s a minor chance of some snow, but it won’t be enough to impact the game.
Early Afternoon Games
Cleveland Browns @ Cincinnati Bengals
LOW impact. Another nice, but cold, game. No rain and light winds, with max temps in the mid-30s. No weather worries here.
LOW impact. There will be a little bit of wind during game time, with sustained winds in the low teens and gusts up to the low 20s. Aside from that, no concerns about the weather during the game. No rain or snow and the temps will be in the low 30s.
Los Angeles Rams @ New York Jets
LOW impact. It’s going to be a cold one in New York, maybe this is payback for those last two weeks in Florida for the Jets? Either way, high temps in the mid-20s. Winds in the single digits and no rain.
Philadelphia Eagles @ Washington Commanders
LOW impact. Another nice game, albeit a cool one. No rain and light winds. High temperatures will be in the low 30s. Start all your usual players.
Arizona Cardinals @ Carolina Panthers
LOW impact. Calm winds, no rain, and temperatures in the low 40s. Doesn’t get much better than this in December. No weather issues here.
Afternoon Games
Minnesota Vikings @ Seattle Seahawks
HIGH impact. Another wet game in Seattle. Expect rain throughout the game—one saving grace is that it won’t be too windy. Expect some ball security issues impacting basically all facets of the game. You can’t sit a Justin Jefferson or JSN, but a flex in kicker and QB may be in order if you have an available option.
New England Patriots @ Buffalo Bills
LOW impact. Luckily, or unluckily if you like bad weather games, we are just missing a snowstorm moving through Buffalo. It will be a cold game with temperatures in the high teens and light winds. Aside from the cold, no other weather issues are expected.
San Francisco 49ers @ Miami Dolphins
LOW impact. Here’s the winner for best weather of the weekend. Light winds, no rain, and temperatures in the mid-70s.
Monday Night Game
New Orleans Saints @ Green Bay Packers
MEDIUM impact. It’ll be snowing in Green Bay on Monday morning, but it looks like most of it should be gone by the time the game starts. With any remnant snow, expect the run game to take center stage, so that’s good news for you Josh Jacobs managers out there. Expect light winds and low temps (in the low 20s, brr!).
Weather is a dynamic thing and can change! Keep an eye on your local weather source leading up to kickoff to see if anything changes significantly. Good luck!
