Gets questionable tag for Week 16
The Giants listed Toney (oblique/quadriceps) as questionable for Sunday's game against the Eagles, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Toney rejoined New York for practice Thursday after being reinstated from the reserve/COVID-19 list, but the Giants still have some concerns about his conditioning coming off a bout with the virus in addition to a four-game absence due to the two injuries. Given Toney's lengthy layoff, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com is pessimistic that Toney will gain clearance to play this weekend, but official word on his status won't arrive until the Giants release their inactive list 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff. If Toney remains out for a fifth consecutive game, return specialist Pharoh Cooper could be needed to fill more reps at receiver alongside starters Kenny Golladay and Darius Slayton. Golladay, Slayton and Cooper are the only current receivers on the 53-man roster who don't have an injury designation or aren't on a reserve list.
