The Saints’ pass to run ratio of 1.09 is tied for the seventh lowest, meaning they are one of the most balanced teams in the NFL. What a difference an actual good defense makes, huh? It appears the days of Brees chucking it all over the field week in and week out have been put on hold since the Saints defense currently ranks eighth best in total defense (yards per game allowed). However, a balanced offense by no means guarantees that Brees will continue to underwhelm in fantasy. Instead, it’s just one data point that we should take into consideration. And another important aspect this week is the value of the fantasy game being played in the Superdome. Washington at New Orleans currently has an Over/Under of 51 points, meaning Vegas expects a lot of points to be scored and I 100% agree with them. Kirk Cousins is playing great football once again this season and should put more stress on the Saints defense than they’ve seen the past four weeks against Tyrod Taylor, Jameis Winston, Mitchell Trubisky, and Brett Hundley. That will create a more favorable passing game script for Brees, who is the cheapest he’s been on DraftKings all year this week. Look for some TDs to swing back in Brees’ favor on Sunday against an average Washington defense that just gave up 304 passing yards and four TDs to Case Keenum a week ago.
