Footclan, it is an absolute honor and privilege to be able to share my tournament thoughts with you on a weekly basis this season. My goal is to give you an extra resource to use when creating your lineups. I usually play 1 or 2 hand-built lineups every week and I’ve had much success in my career playing that way. Each week I’ll discuss my favorite stacks to utilize in large-field tournaments, ways to gain leverage on the field, and any other slate-specific thoughts.

In Week 3 of the 2021 NFL season, I won the Milly Maker and several other 6 figure contests on DraftKings. I’ve also been to five live finals where I have competed against some of the best players in the industry. I’m so excited to be able to help you gain an advantage and win some big money this year!

Last week, The Chiefs and Jaguars game was a huge disappointment for many of us, so thankfully I didn’t have 100% exposure there. Zack Moss and Nico Collins were in most of my lineups which allowed me to sneak into the cash line in a few lineups, but overall, it was just an okay week for me. I always say this but the important thing to remember is that each slate is a new slate, and we must move forward with confidence regardless of our previous performance. With that, let’s get rolling.

Slate-Specific Thoughts

This Sunday there are some pretty good spots we can attack, but there is only one that stands out as the clear and obvious Game of the Week. As always, play whoever you’d like in tournaments but where there is a shootout, there are lots of fantasy points.

Game of the Week – Chargers @ Vikings (O/U 54)

With the highest implied total on the slate by far, the Chargers and Vikings are set to put on a show for us on Sunday. Both teams are going to get a ton of attention from the public, and for good reason. You’ve got your higher-priced receivers in Justin Jefferson $9,300 who is the best player on the slate, and Keenan Allen $7,600 who is Justin Herbert’s favorite target. Then we have some moderately priced, high-upside receivers in Mike Williams $6,000 and Jordan Addison $5,500. Both backfields have some question marks with Austin Ekeler getting ruled out for the second straight week, and the Vikings trading for Cam Akers this week. We don’t know if Akers will suit up but at this point, I cannot trust Alexander Mattison. I wasn’t on Joshua Kelley last week against the Titans, but I have a lot of interest here at only $5,400. I probably won’t be spending $6,500 for TJ Hockenson but if you’re playing multiple lineups, you are more than welcome to play him in your stacks or even by himself. If you’re not playing anybody in this game because of ownership, I think that would be a huge mistake. It’s a great game environment, being played in a dome, and both defenses are nothing special. We’ll get back to this game shortly.
