NFL DFS First Look at Salaries & Matchups for Week 8 (Fantasy Football)
On Tuesday, Betz and myself share some of these insights on the Fantasy Footballers DFS Podcast if you want further commentary on some of the salary standouts.
Every week the First Look article gives you a taste of the slate and some of the more intriguing salaries that DraftKings and FanDuel release. The goal is to identify early-week cash game considerations, as well as potential tournament plays, before we piece together the stacking options.
Check back on Thursday when Matthew Betz and myself share our official DraftKings and FanDuel picks for cash and GPPs exclusively in the DFS Pass.
Here are the games for this week’s main slate* including team-implied totals (TIP) for each matchup.
These lines are provided by DraftKings Sportsbook and are accurate as of time of publishing.
At first glance, here are a couple of things to note:
- The games on this slate are on the weaker side… With only three currently over 48, it’s not super promising from a game-stacking perspective.
- With Week 7 packed with injury news, there will be values that eventually come to the surface. Stay patient and don’t lock in your player pool before Friday’s inactives.
- On Bye: KC & LAC
- Off Main Slate: BAL, TB, DEN, JAX, GB, BUF, CIN, CLE
The position is barren this week aside from Jalen Hurts ($8300-DK, $9200-FD). Paying up on both sites feels like a solid strategy. For everyone else, I apologize to you and your kin. I’m counting seven QBs who did not begin the season as their team’s starter. Woof.
- Kirk Cousins ($6100) is always someone I prefer in plus matchups at home. If you’re dropping down from Hurts, keep in mind Cousins has averaged 274 and 2.2 passing TDs at home since 2020.
