Every week the First Look article gives you a taste of the slate and some of the more intriguing salaries that DraftKings and FanDuel release. The goal is to identify early-week cash game considerations, as well as potential tournament plays before we piece together the stacking options. On Tuesdays, I share some of these insights on the Fantasy Footballers DFS & Betting Podcast if you want further commentary on some of the salary standouts.

Here are the games for this week’s main slate* including team-implied totals (TIP) for each matchup.

Overview

For newcomers, the main slate for DFS includes the Sunday early (1:00 EST) and afternoon games (4:25 EST). At first glance, here are a couple of things to note:

  • Off the Main Slate: SEA, DAL, KC, GB, CIN, JAX
  • Bye Week Teams: ATL, IND, NE, NO
  • The Miami Dolphins stand far and away above everyone else on this slate. As Betz mentioned in the Vegas Report, this is a team that beats up on lesser opponents and the Commanders are just the recipe for an onslaught in DFS.
  • On a 10-game slate, there are 3-4 game environments worth stacking but don’t try to get cute with ATL/NYJ or CLE/LAR this week in GPPs. Lean into team-implied totals rather than individual matchups.

Quarterbacks

  • Jalen Hurts ($8200) is the clear QB1 on this slate in both price and ceiling. His five total TDs last week kinda hid the fact he’s thrown for only 200 & 150 yards the last two weeks. The line is a bit surprising to me (+2.5) but the Eagles have been quite fortunate in one-score games including an impeccable 5-0 in games they trailed at halftime this year.
