NFL DFS First Look at Salaries & Matchups for Divisional Round (Fantasy Football)
Every week the First Look article gives you a taste of the slate and some of the more intriguing salaries that DraftKings and FanDuel release. The goal is to identify early-week cash game considerations, as well as potential tournament plays before we piece together the stacking options. On Tuesdays, I share some of these insights on the Fantasy Footballers DFS & Betting Podcast if you want further commentary on some of the salary standouts.
Check back later in the week when Matthew Betz and I share our official DraftKings and FanDuel picks exclusively in the DFS Pass.
Here are the games for this week’s main slate* including team-implied totals (TIP) for each matchup.
Quarterbacks
- It almost feels like we are too accustomed to Josh Allen‘s greatness. Did you know he ranks 2nd all-time in rushing TDs by a QB in just 94 career regular season games? While the turnovers were an issue in the regular season, it really doesn’t matter when you’re running the way he does. From Week 12 on, he’s averaged almost 10 rushing attempts per game! He’s averaged 31.9 DK points per game against the Chiefs in his last five contests including the playoffs.
- Lamar Jackson is the QB2 on both sites but on FanDuel, the gap is much bigger between Josh Allen. The Texans rank 20th in EPA per pass attempt and Lamar crushed at home all year long averaging 23.1 fantasy points and 54 rushing yards per game. As a near double-digit favorite, he’s a priority play on FanDuel for me.
