Every week the First Look article gives you a taste of the slate and some of the more intriguing salaries that DraftKings and FanDuel release. The goal is to identify early-week cash game considerations, as well as potential tournament plays before we piece together the stacking options. On Tuesdays, I share some of these insights on the Fantasy Footballers DFS & Betting Podcast if you want further commentary on some of the salary standouts.

Here are the games for this week’s main slate* including team-implied totals (TIP) for each matchup.

Overview

For newcomers, the main slate for DFS includes the Sunday early (1:00 EST) and afternoon games (4:25 EST). At first glance, here are a couple of things to note:

  • Off the Main Slate: MIN, LAR, DAL, SF, NYG, PIT
  • Bye Week Teams: N/A
  • This is a full slate my friends! 13 games is a lot compared to the 10 you’ve been used to lately. The early window games have the most intriguing games and this expect a ton of early chalk decisions making late swap options pretty important for tournament purposes.

Quarterbacks

  • The expensive QBs on the slate might be too rich for cash but all three possess great upside albeit all three are on the road:
    • Lamar Jackson ($8100)- The QB1 on the year is averaging 26.3 fantasy points per game so matchups are mostly irrelevant at this point .
    • Josh Allen ($7800)- The passing game finally started to get going last week with Amari Cooper aboard.
    • Jalen Hurts ($7500)- If A.J. Brown is playing, Hurts is in play. Cincy allowed 29 points per game in Weeks 1-5 before playing “JV offenses” known as the Giants and the Browns.
