NFL DFS First Look at DraftKings Salaries for Week 2 (Fantasy Football)
Every week the First Look article gives you a taste of the slate and some of the more intriguing salaries that DraftKings and FanDuel release. The goal is to identify early-week cash game considerations, as well as potential tournament plays before we piece together the stacking options. On Tuesdays, I share some of these insights on the Fantasy Footballers DFS & Betting Podcast if you want further commentary on some of the salary standouts.
Check back later in the week when Matthew Betz and I share our official DraftKings and FanDuel picks for cash and GPPs exclusively in the DFS Pass.
Here are the games for this week’s main slate* including team-implied totals (TIP) for each matchup.
Overview
For newcomers, the main slate for DFS includes the Sunday early (1:00 EST) and afternoon games (4:25 EST). At first glance, here are a couple of things to note:
- Off the Main Slate: BUF, MIA, CHI, HOU, ATL, PHI
- Bye Week Teams: N/A
- This main slate is packed with 13(!) games and while it is uneven with 10 games in the early window, two of the games in the afternoon portion should carry a ton of roster percentage.
- Knowing LAR/ARI and CIN/KC will be popular should not cause you to ignore the early window. Instead, find correlation plays (RB + opposing WR) that make sense in game environments that could go off.
Quarterbacks
- We highlighted on the main podcast the lack of overall passing efficiency and points in Week 1. The average passing yardage on Sunday was just 202 yards and games averaged 7 fewer pass attempts compared to 2023’s Week 1. You can take this information in a number of directions but at the end of the day, finding QB value on this slate is the theme.
- Lamar Jackson ($7700) is the QB1 in pricing and it makes sense after he hit the 100-yard bonus in Week 1 on the ground. As a near double-digit favorite at home, the Ravens should take care of business. In Ravens wins, he’s averaging 21.6 fantasy points and almost 11 rushing attempts. His pricing will likely keep his roster percentage tame as the Ravens pass catchers caused some confusion in Week 1.
