Hey there FootClan! While Kyle Borgognoni is off soaking up the sun on the beach, he asked me to fill in for the FanDuel articles this week. In this edition, I’ll be featuring my favorite players for cash lineups. For more on cash game strategy and the mechanics of it, make sure you listen to the DFS Cash Overview episode. On the Fantasy Footballers DFS Podcast, Betz and a special guest will dive into a couple of these but this article is intended for DFS Pass subscribers to get the full lay of the land.

Quarterbacks

Note: Remember on FanDuel the pricing for QBs is bunched together so seemingly “expensive” players aren’t as hard to roster as it may appear. It also typically pays to target quarterbacks that do more on the ground, since there aren’t the throwing bonuses that DraftKings offers.

Kyler Murray vs. SF – $8,500
With Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, and Lamar Jackson all off the main slate this week, paying all the way up for Murray is the obvious cash choice. His volume, both through the air and on the ground, makes him as safe as it gets. Through four weeks, he’s the only quarterback in the NFL with at least 1,200 passing yards and 100 rushing yards. Not that you need to worry much about matchups with Murray, but the 49ers rank 26th in DvP versus fantasy QBs, and the Cardinals have a 27.5 point implied point total, only strengthening the case for Murray. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a better cash quarterback option any week this season.

Jalen Hurts @ CAR – $8,100
Targeting rushing quarterbacks is a great cash game strategy on FanDuel, and Hurts is averaging more rushing yards/game (56.5) than any other QB on the slate. That was expected coming into the season, but his huge uptick in passing is a surprise. He has the ninth-most passing yards in the league (1,167) and is completing passes at a respectable 66.2% rate. The Eagles offense is running completely through Hurts, while Philly running backs have combined for just 16 carries over the last two weeks. It’s hard to envision a scenario where Hurts lets you down with that kind of workload.

Daniel Jones @ DAL – $7,400
Guess which QB on this slate is right behind Jalen Hurts in rushing yards/game. That’s right, it’s Daniel Jones and his 47 rushing yards/game. It feels wrong to consider him in cash lineups, but he’s been checking all the boxes to look for in cash. He’s got a solid rushing floor, can air it out when needed, and, most surprisingly, has been taking care of the ball. So far, he’s only turned the ball over twice on the season with one interception and one lost fumble. Playing in what is expected to be the highest-scoring game on the slate, Jones is perfectly viable in cash.
