NFL DFS DraftKings GPP Picks: Week 2 (Fantasy Football)
For the purposes of this article, I’ll be highlighting plays that I believe have upside for large field GPPs at reduced roster percentages, but that doesn’t mean we can’t sprinkle in some cash plays into our GPP lineups as well. In fact, most of the best tournament lineups feature some combination of high rostered plays as well as lower rostered plays. For my full breakdown on DraftKings for Week 1 cash games, be sure to check out my DraftKings cash picks here.
When building your GPP lineups, be sure to reference our Roster Percentage Report as well as our DFS Rankings in order to identify plays who have a solid projection yet may be undervalued by the field. In order to compete in GPPs, we’ll want to utilize a combination of cash plays and GPP plays in order to build solid lineups without sacrificing too much in the way of projection. Quarterbacks
Brock Purdy $6,100 @ MIN
As was the case all of last year, the Niners offense looked ultra efficient in Week 1 against an on paper stingy Jets defense. Purdy didn’t have the best fantasy game with Jordan Mason stealing the show, but he still averaged 8.0 YPA while completing two-thirds of his passes. This week, SF travels to Minnesota’s dome with the slate’s fourth-highest team total, and on paper, this is a spot for the Niners passing game to find success. Historically among the league leaders in blitz rate, Minnesota should send extra defenders to try to get pressure on Purdy. That could spell trouble for the Purple People Eaters considering Purdy led the NFL in YPA against the blitz a year ago, and they’ve been brutal against play action. From a game theory standpoint, Purdy stacks this week is are of my favorite ways to get leverage on the chalky Jordan Mason, assuming CMC is out.
Brock Purdy (SF) has completed 77.9% of passes (102/131) on play action passes since the 2022 season, best of Qualified Quarterbacks.
The Vikings have allowed a completion rate of 69.5% on play action passes since the 2022 season, 4th-worst in NFL.#FTTB pic.twitter.com/HtVBF1Em5s
