For the purposes of this article, I’ll be highlighting plays that I believe have upside at reduced roster percentages, but that doesn’t mean we can’t sprinkle in some cash plays into our GPP lineups as well. For my full breakdown on DraftKings for Week 1 cash games, be sure to check out my DraftKings cash picks here.

When building your GPP lineups, be sure to reference our Roster Percentage Report as well as our DFS Rankings in order to identify plays who have a solid projection yet may be undervalued by the field. In order to compete in GPPs, we’ll want to utilize a combination of cash plays and GPP plays in order to build solid lineups without sacrificing too much in the way of projection. For more on how to use roster percentages and build strong GPP lineups, be sure to check out this episode of the DFS Podcast.

Quarterback

Jalen Hurts $7,800 @ NE
With most of the field paying down at QB this week, I think there’s a decent chance Hurts and his WRs go overlooked in Week 1. On paper, it may seem like a tough matchup on the road against New England, but the Patriots defense really struggled against the NFL’s top QBs last season, particularly those that can run the football. Last year’s Pats team allowed the 12th-most rushing yards to opposing QBs, and they were particularly susceptible to RPO and zone read style QBs per Scott Barrett of FantasyPoints. Additionally, Hurts projects to throw the ball way more than he did last season. The Eagles got out to huge leads frequently last year, averaging just 11.1 pass attempts per game in the second half vs. almost 20 attempts per game in the first half. If this game stays close as the Vegas spread suggests, I think we see more Hurts pass attempts than the market suggests.
