NFL DFS DraftKings Cash Picks: Week 5 (Fantasy Football)
NFL DFS cash games are all about building a high floor lineup that can win in head to heads, 50/50s, and double-ups. Each week I’ll highlight my favorite cash game picks that I have some confidence heading into the weekend to put into my player pools. For more on cash game strategy and the mechanics of it, make sure you listen to our DFS Cash Overview episode. Quarterback
Notable Quarterbacks NOT on the Main Slate: Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Russell Wilson, Matthew Stafford
Kyler Murray $8,000
On a slate without other top tier fantasy QBs, Kyler makes sense as the preferred spend up option if you want safety at the position in cash games. There’s not too much to say here with Kyler, who’s been fantastic through the first month of the season. He’s averaging 318 pass yards, 2.3 pass TD per game and has found the end zone three times with his legs. He finds himself in a plus matchup at home against the 49ers’ banged up secondary with a 27.5 implied team total.
Tom Brady $7,400
Through the first month of the season, the Bucs are the NFL’s most pass happy offense, leading the league in pass rate over expectation. Now Brady gets a matchup against the Dolphins who could possibly be without Byron Jones (quad). In Weeks 3-4, the Dolphins allowed Derek Carr and Carson Wentz to combine for 614 yards (8.2 YPA) and 4 TD. Meanwhile, Brady leads the league in passing yards and pass attempts, and Vegas expects Tampa to score 29.0 points according to their implied team total.
