Your Guide to the Thanksgiving DFS Slate
Welcome to the Thanksgiving day edition of our weekly premium DFS content. I’m even more enthusiastic than usual this week because the three-game Thanksgiving day slate is my favorite NFL DFS day of the entire year. Football is sacred on Thanksgiving and NFL DFS is sacred to me. It’s truly a beautiful combination. Now, enough foreplay already, let’s get straight to the injury reports and picks.
Likely IN for the Cowboys: Left Tackle Tyron Smith
Upgrade if He Plays: Entire Cowboys Offense
Downgrade if He Plays: Chargers D/ST
Kirk Cousins vs. New York Giants
Although the end of the Redskins/Saints game last week was disappointing for Cousins supporters, the final box score numbers were not. Cousins threw for 322 yards and three TDs, which are numbers that are indicative of his season as a whole. Cousins leads all passers on the Thanksgiving slate in passing yards per game with 279.6 and is second to only Dak Prescott in total TDs (passing + rushing) per game with 2.0. And he gets to play at home against a Giants defense that has the fourth-worst pass DVOA and that has given up the fourth most passing yards per game.
Philip Rivers at Dallas
Rivers comes in third out of all the QBs on the Thanksgiving slate in passing yards per game with 251.4. We’ve already touched on Cousins, who is in first. As for second place, that’s Matthew Stafford who has a very tough matchup this week against the Vikings. However, Rivers’ matchup looks a lot more favorable against a Cowboys defense that ranks 14th worst in pass DVOA.
