GPP: Drew Brees vs. Philadelphia
Drew Brees gets to play at home in the dome and that’s exciting in its own right. Even better though, the Eagles have become a funnel defense. Philadelphia finished the regular season ranked seventh in rushing yards allowed per game and ninth in Run DVOA. On the flip side, the Eagles ranked 30th in passing yards allowed per game and 15th in Pass DVOA. Thus, despite New Orleans’ offense ranking sixth in the league in rushing yards per game and 12th in passing yards per game, this projects as a game where Brees ends up with more passing yards than his season average per game of 266.13. Dare I even say the three-point 300-yard passing bonus is absolutely in play here. That’s exciting since Brees already finished third on this slate in pass TDs per game (2.13) behind only Patrick Mahomes and Andrew Luck.
Cash: Patrick Mahomes vs. Indianapolis
We must start with Patty Mahomes who finished the regular season ranked second in passing yards per game and first in pass TDs and led a Chiefs team that ranked first in yards per game and first in points per game. Mahomes has the honors of being the home QB in by far the best fantasy game of the weekend and gets to face off against a Colts defense that finished the regular season ranked 16th in passing yards allowed per game and 20th in Pass DVOA.
