Before we get into the specifics of this matchup and how to approach it for the DraftKings showdown slate, I want to point people back to a few pieces of evergreen content that I think are extremely valuable if you’re serious about winning showdown all season. I’d recommend reading/listening to this content before proceeding, especially if you’re new to showdown.

Game Outlook

Deja vu? Week 2 kicks off with a matchup between the 0-1 Vikings and the 1-0 Eagles. Ironically, these two teams played in primetime last season in Week 2 with Philly beating Minnesota 24-7 on Monday Night Football. Vegas is projecting more points in this one with the total currently sitting at a healthy 49 points with the Eagles favored by a touchdown.

If Week 1 trends mean anything, we should expect plenty of passing in this contest. Minnesota’s 66% neutral pass rate in Week 1 ranked second in the league a week ago, while Philly wasn’t far behind at 62% (4th). With Kenny Gainwell not expected to play, we shouldn’t expect much to change here for Philly after they barely used D’Andre Swift and made Rashaad Penny a healthy inactive in Week 1. So long as this game stays close, I project plenty of Jalen Hurts drop backs, which means I’ll be prioritizing his pass catchers here.
