DFS Picks for Saturday’s 3-Game Wild Card Slate
Welcome to Wild Card weekend! The NFL did all of us a favor this year, expanding the playoff field for each conference from six teams to seven, a true gift for all football junkies. What does it mean? We get three separate slates – a six-game “main slate,” a Saturday only slate, and a Sunday only slate. For a more detailed analysis of the entire DFS landscape this weekend, be sure to check out the DFS Podcast and my Vegas Report article in the DFS Pass. Below are my favorite cash and GPP picks for Saturday’s 3-game slate.
Quarterbacks
Josh Allen $7,500 on DraftKings / $9,000 on FanDuel
Allen has been on fire this season and he’ll look to keep it rolling against in his first career home playoff game in front of part of Bills Mafia. On paper, the matchup against the Colts looks difficult, as Indy ranks 8th in pass defense DVOA, but they’ve been destroyed by fantasy QBs in recent weeks. From Weeks 11-16, they’re the third-worst defense against the position, giving up an average of 23 fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks. Allen’s unique floor/ceiling combination thanks to his rushing upside makes him the highest ceiling QB on Saturday’s slate. The Bills have the highest implied team total on the slate. He’s safe in cash games and provides upside in GPPs, but I do expect him to be the most rostered QB in tournaments so if rostering Allen, just be sure to get contrarian elsewhere.
