Week 5 is a tough week for the QB position.  Russell Wilson, Blake Bortles, Drew Brees and Alex Smith are on bye, while Carson Palmer and Cam Newton are in danger of missing their games due to injury.  But don’t worry, the Fantasy Footballers are here with this weeks edition of Full Stream Ahead.  In this segment, the Footballers look to the waiver wire to find you a streaming option at the QB position who is available in at least 40% of leagues and is capable of a solid fantasy performance.  Full Stream Ahead is featured on the podcast every Tuesday.

Carson Wentz @ DET (ESPN 23%, Yahoo 39%)

Coming off of his bye, Carson Wentz gets a matchup with the Detroit Lions and their 31st ranked pass defense.  In the last 4 weeks, the Lions have given up 46, 23, 36 and 26 fantasy points to the QB position.  With a stable of pass-catching RBs to go with his weapons on the outside, Wentz should be a solid start for you this week.

Brian Hoyer @ IND (ESPN 3.9%, Yahoo 5%)

Brian Hoyer proved last season that he is a capable QB.  This season Hoyer has made two starts for the Bears and has been a QB1 for fantasy purposes in both weeks.  Temper expectations if both Jeffery and White are going to miss the game.  But if one or both of them play, Hoyer should have enough options to take advantage of a bad Colts defense.

Trevor Siemian vs ATL (ESPN 27.5%, Yahoo 26%)

Jason’s 1st choice was Brian Hoyer and his 2nd choice was Carson Wentz, but you can’t be too disappointed with Trevor Siemian.  The Broncos face an Atlanta defense this week that has given up 3 or more TDs to opposing QBs each week this season.  Siemian has a non-throwing shoulder injury that you need to monitor this week, but given the matchup, even Paxton Lynch could be a streaming option for you if you’re desperate.

Joe Flacco vs WAS (ESPN 31.9%, Yahoo 34%)

Flacco has been featured in this article every week, and with good reason.  The Baltimore Ravens are third in the league in pass attempts, and now they host a Redskins team that has given up 14 pass plays of 20 yards or more.  An exceptional deep ball thrower, I expect Flacco to take advantage of the Washington DBs not named Josh Norman.
