This is it. Week 17 of the NFL regular season. Thank you so much for reading these weekly articles. Remember the Fantasy Footballers are an all-year podcast. The staff of writers will also continue putting out strategy and player profile articles to give you the edge heading into 2017. Here are The Footballers’ Week 17 Starts from today’s episode!

Andy’s Starts

andyQB Jameis Winston vs Carolina
At home against Carolina with a sliver’s chance of playoffs facing a beatable secondary. He has Mike Evans who needs 9 receptions for 100 this year.

RB Mark Ingram at Atlanta
He’s just 60 yards away from 1000 yards on the season. The team wants to feed him the ball. When he runs the ball 15 or more times New Orleans wins. With little else to play for, New Orleans should put it in Ingram’s hands.

WR Steve Smith Sr. at Cincinnati
This is the final game for Smith and there’s nothing else to play for. I think he has a high target game.

TE Eric Ebron vs Green Bay
He had 8 catches last week and he has a great matchup this week.

Mike’s Starts

mike

QB Blake Bortles at Indianapolis
He’s playing for his job with a new coaching staff coming in. Doug Marrone is looking for another coaching opportunity.

RB Bilal Powell vs Buffalo
I expect Matt Forte to be out. Powell always looks great when given the opportunity.

WR Allen Robinson at Indianapolis
Things are crazy when you have this much faith in Jacksonville, but the new coaching staff is moving him around to get him involved in the game. He’s big and he can do work on the Indianapolis secondary. Pumping it up.

TE Antonio Gates vs Kansas City
I’m going with the narrative that Gates is going for two TDs so he can hang it up with the TE TD record.

Jason’s Starts

jasonQB Russell Wilson at San Francisco
My #2 QB. Seattle needs to win this game to get a bye week. He’s been a disappointment in fantasy overall, but he’s been the #2 QB since Week 9. He got hot in the second half just like last year.

RB Ezekiel Elliott at Philadelphia
This is a confidence SOTW. Don’t get stupid. He’ll play and he’ll play until Dallas is up and he will help get them there. I think he’ll be fine to play.

WR Golden Tate vs Green Bay
Got off to a slow start, but he’s had a great second half of the season. The Green Bay secondary is ranked 31st against WRs. He’s had 5 or more receptions in his last six games.

TE Charles Clay at New York Jets
Clay is actually better with E.J. Manual than Tyrod Taylor. He had a huge day with two TDs last week and the New York Jets aren’t good against TEs. Clay is on a lot of waivers and playable despite Taylor’s benching.

Eric’s Starts

QB Matthew Stafford vs Green Bay
Stafford has done nothing in the last three weeks, but he had some tough matchups. Detroit has little run game to speak of, face a bad secondary, and need to win. Golden Tate and Eric Ebron can’t have great fantasy days without Stafford having a great game. I think he bounces back.

RB DeAngelo Williams vs Cleveland
I’m not sure I need to justify this much. With Le’Veon Bell getting rested, Williams becomes the bell cow back against Cleveland. It seems like forever ago, but Williams had over 300 yards from scrimmage and 3 TDs in the first two weeks of the season.

WR Davante Adams at Detroit
Adams has had 6 or 7 targets in six straight games. Adams should have no trouble getting 6 or more targets again in a must-win game against Detroit, which is more than enough for a big game when Aaron Rodgers is throwing the ball.

TE C.J. Fiedorowicz at Tennessee
First an apology. Last week I said “Maybe Antonio Gates gets forced the ball in a desperate last-ditch shot at the record, but the torch has seemed to pass to Henry. Henry has had a red zone reception in every game since Week 10. Gates has not had a red zone reception since Week 10.” Of course, Gates went bananas and Henry did nothing. This week I’m going with a guy that has had 39 targets over his last 5 games. Tennessee is very beatable.

Jason Moore’s Ironclad, Locked-and-Loaded, 100% Guaranteed ‘Boom Boom Kicker of the Week’

There are a lot of good kickers out there named Justin Tucker. Lots of good options, but I’m going with Vegas for a game with a 56 over/under. I’m going with Matt Bryant who was my first and will be my last Boom Boom kicker of the week.
