2017 NFL Week 7 Weather Conditions
Hopefully you’re in the playoff hunt, but this is the time of the fantasy season where every win/loss can significantly impact playoff seeding. You need to take advantage of every single little edge to get you into the playoffs and hopefully a first-round bye. There are going to be some rainy games, so make sure you pay attention to the forecasts leading up to the games.

Fantasy Impact: As it stands, it looks like it will rain Sunday morning leading up to the game and then taper off. The rain isn’t expected to be hard, but the field may be a bit slick.
The weather isn’t great, but it’s not horrible either for Brett Hundley‘s debut. Hundley has exceptional athleticism, but he’s a complete wildcard coming into this game. His college career was mediocre, but he made improvements each year and has had a chance to learn under one of the best quarterbacks of all time. He’s torn defenses apart in preseason games, but he just threw 3 interceptions last week following Aaron Rodgers‘ early exit.
The game plan for Green Bay will play to Hundley’s strengths while mitigating risks against an opportunistic New Orleans defense. I would expect to see Green Bay feed Ty Montgomery and Aaron Jones as much as possible while employing a single read-run type approach for Hundley similar to what Houston did with DeShaun Watson during the preseason and the first couple weeks of the regular season. You still start Jordy Nelson and Davante Adams, but they may not see the quality or quantity of targets they saw with Rodgers. Hundley is risky in season-long leagues, but he’s an interesting play in DFS and two-QB leagues. He’s like a Tyrod Taylor, but you know, with wide receivers that can actually separate and catch.
There are some red flags on the New Orleans side. Drew Brees has historically been fantasy gold against Green Bay, but you would expect that when one future HOF QB in a high-powered offense faces another future HOF QB also in a high-powered offense. If Green Bay can’t move the ball with Hundley, New Orleans may be able to lean on Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara. We also can’t forget that Brees was the original home/away split guy before Big Ben. Even without Rodgers, Green Bay is still a tough place to play especially when a dome team plays in wet conditions mixed with cooler temperatures. I’d still begrudgingly start Brees and Michael Thomas. Ingram is a solid start in season-long leagues and the only guy I’m touching in DFS on the New Orleans side. (Fun Stat: New Orleans won the last game played between these two teams back in 2014-Mark Ingram ran for 172 yards on 24 carries and scored a TD)

Fantasy Impact: Timing could easily change, but it looks like it will rain leading up to the game, taper off, then start back up again towards the end of the game. Winds will die down during the game, but it’s going to be quite breezy around kickoff. As bad as this weather is, I’m not sure it will impact either of these teams too much.
Both teams focus their game plans on the running backs and tight ends. The rain and wind shouldn’t be severe enough to change those offensive focuses. The weather is a slight downgrade for Cam Newton and Devin Funchess. Kelvin Benjamin was dealing with a knee issue and probably wouldn’t have been targeted a lot in this game anyways. Mitchell Trubisky hasn’t done anything to suggest he’s a reliable fantasy asset yet, but Zach Miller should still see a healthy amount of targets. Jordan Howard is a must play. Expect to see more of the same from Christian McCaffrey and Jonathan Stewart.

Fantasy Impact: I’d love to give you better information, but forecasts from this game are all over the place. Some call for rain with low winds, some call for high winds with no rain, and some call for brief showers. We’re simply going to need to track the weather for this game through the weekend. I would not adjust rosters based on the weather for this game.
