Red Zone Report: Week 4 (Fantasy Football)

We are a full month of games into the NFL season and are hopefully getting a much better idea of how teams are using players from week to week. More importantly for fantasy managers, we have gotten a much better idea of which players are being used in the most important part of the field for fantasy – the Red Zone!

Time once again this week to take a deep dive into who is getting carries and targets inside the 20 from Week 4!

Red Zone Rushing

Josh Jacobs (GB)

Starting at the top as usual with Josh Jacobs after a huge Week 4 that saw him finish as the RB2 overall. In the red zone, Jacobs saw a whopping seven carries, the second-highest total for an RB in a single week this season, and converted two into TDs. In fact, all four of Jacobs’ TDs this season have come from red zone carries. What may be frustrating is Jacobs’ fantasy day could have been even bigger, with two Packers TDs scored from inside the five on passing TDs. Overall, though, Jacobs has become one of the more consistent red zone threats for fantasy, currently leading the league in carries inside the 20. 

Tyler Allgeier (ATL)

While there’s plenty of deserved hype around the RB1 in Atlanta, Tyler Allgeier is having a pretty underrated fantasy season as the backup RB for the Falcons. Week 4 saw Allgeier get increased red zone carries with four carries inside the 20 and punching one into the end zone. In both games that Allgeier has seen at least four red zone carries, he has scored both times and finished inside the top-30 RBs on the week. With the Falcons going on Bye this week, Allgeier could be a sneaky pickup with huge upside for rosters dealing with injury.

Kendre Miller (NO)

A surprising name to see on the red zone list, Kendre Miller led all players in red zone yards in Week 4 with 29. Miller’s RB22 finish this week marks the first time he’s been an RB2 or better on a week since Week 18 of the 2023 season. What may be difficult for fantasy managers to discern is whether Miller’s Week 4 performance was a one-off thing or if he may be carving out a role in the Saints offense. Miller still has Alvin Kamara in front of him, and the New Orleans offense isn’t really one fantasy managers need to be investing in, but a follow-up of this type of red zone usage will create a bigger discussion around his fantasy relevance going forward.

De’Von Achane (MIA)

Not a name you would usually see near the top of the red zone carries, but De’Von Achane had some real success for the Dolphins inside the 20 against the Jets. Just a week after fellow Dolphins RB Ollie Gordon punched in a TD from short yardage, Achane out-snapped the rookie this week inside the 20 and scored a TD of his own. With the injury to Tyreek Hill, it will be worth monitoring how the Dolphins adjust the offense as a whole, but any increase in these types of snaps for Achane can only raise his ceiling down the stretch of the season.

2025 Season Red Zone Carries:

Red Zone Receiving

Romeo Doubs (GB)

There isn’t a lot of great analysis needed when a player explodes for fantasy like Romeo Doubs did Sunday night against the Cowboys. Doubs’ three TDs all came inside the red zone and match the highest number of TDs – rushing or receiving – scored by a player inside the 20 in a single game this season. In all, Doubs saw three red zone targets, doubling his season total, so this may not be something that fantasy managers can bet on seeing consistently from the WR, especially with the aforementioned Josh Jacobs and TE Tucker Kraft – who also saw three red zone targets this week – healthy and on the field.

Ashton Jeanty (LV)

At long last, fantasy managers got to see Ashton Jeanty unleashed in the NFL, and he turned in quite the performance, scoring three TDs and finishing as the RB1 on the week. What has to be extra exciting for fantasy managers is the pair of red zone targets that Jeanty turned into TDs against the Bears. Jeanty has only seen eight total targets on the season, but being used around the goal line is like a cherry on top of what could be one of the best RBs for fantasy for years to come.

Amon-Ra St. Brown (DET)

For the second time this season, Amon-Ra St. Brown had a multi-red zone TD game, scoring his fourth and fifth red zone TDs on the season. St. Brown is the current league leader in red zone TDs – rushing or receiving, and has scored all six TDs in the last three games. When the Lions get into the red zone, Amon-Ra is a clear priority, also leading the league in total red zone targets, receptions, and yards.

Tommy Tremble (CAR)

A deep cut from Week 4 to maybe keep an eye on is Panthers TE Tommy Tremble. Tremble hauled in three red zone receptions against the Patriots to finish as the TE7 on the week. In fact, Tremble has caught a red zone TD in two of his last five games dating back to last season. While Tremble hasn’t been overly involved in Carolina’s offense to start the year, getting eight total targets is worth keeping an eye on for fantasy managers in need of a TE option.
