Dynasty Lifecycles: Players at their Peak for 2025
One of the keys to building a dynasty contender is understanding the peaks and valleys at each position. When do players break out? When do they approach their prime? Most importantly, when should we expect their production to inevitably decline?
Fortunately, we can use historical data to help answer these questions, which I highlighted in my Dynasty Lifecycle series last off-season. If you haven’t already, check out our breakdowns for each position:

Data Points: Peak Production at Each Position
In this article, we will highlight players approaching or in the middle of their prime as we head into the 2025 season. These are the players that dynasty contenders will want to hold onto or acquire, as they are likely to continue to produce as top options at their respective positions.
While RBs tend to produce consistently and early, the peak of their career is not until the age of 26 – which has the highest PPG average in our sample size. In addition, we did NOT see a significant drop in production at age 27, with only a 6% decline year over year. We saw this most recently with Saquon Barkley, Joe Mixon, and Derrick Henry, players who continued to produce at a high level in their age-27 season. If we analyze production by career year, we can see a similar trend as RBs continuously improve in points per game while peaking in their sixth and seventh seasons.
