The Chiefs visit the Broncos to kick off Week 7. I’ll be bringing this Thursday night preview each week breaking down this single-game slate for DraftKings contests as part of the Footballers’ DFS Pass.

This one has a healthy Over/Under of 49 points, which makes sense with Patrick Mahomes playing. Mahomes leads the league in passing yards per game (350.67) and ranks tied for second in pass TDs per game (2.33). Yet, this game is in Denver and the Broncos have tightened up their defense over the past few weeks. On the season, the Broncos defense ranks fourth in yards per game allowed and seventh in points per game allowed.

Analyzing the Broncos offense vs. the Chiefs Defense, we see the complete opposite. The matchup is there for the home team as Denver gets to attack a Chiefs defense that ranks 28th in yards per game allowed and 19th in points per game allowed. Yet, will Joe Flacco and company be able to? The Broncos offense ranks 26th in points per game and 25th in yards per game.

These fascinating storylines make for a very unique and fun Showdown Slate. Our process should push us away from Defenses and instead shine a light on the Kickers as well as the skill position players in this contest.

Captain Spot Choices

Patrick Mahomes $18,000
Mahomes leads the league in passing yards per game (350.67) and ranks tied for second in Pass TDs per game (2.33). He now has Tyreek Hill back in the lineup and may be getting Sammy Watkins back as well. Mahomes is matchup proof and the Broncos 16th ranked defense in terms of Pass DVOA likely won’t be his kryptonite.
