NFL DFS FanDuel GPP Picks: Week 3 (Fantasy Football)
Building winning GPP lineups is tough by definition. However, there are a few key things to look for when filling out your roster. First and foremost is ceiling. We want players with the potential to score the most points. Next is leverage. We want the players who can take advantage of what the rest of the field is doing. Finally, we have to build a lineup that tells a winning story through game script and stacking.
Every week in this article, I will highlight my favorite FanDuel GPP picks at each position for the main slate of games. It won’t be an exhaustive list, but it aims to give you a starting point and a way of thinking as you build your tournament lineups. But don’t stop here. As Sunday kickoff approaches, make sure to utilize all of the other articles and tools from the amazing team that contributes to the DFS Pass.
We are heading into Week 3, and while we are continuing to get more data, it is still very early in the season. We need to make sure to balance what we have seen so far while looking for places where the field may be overconfident or underconfident. Let’s dive in.
Quarterbacks
Note: You should always check out the Cash Picks article that Julia Papworth puts out, but I want to call special attention to it this week. Specifically, the QBs. She covers Lamar Jackson ($8,600), Brock Purdy ($8,200), and Geno Smith ($6,700), who are all very viable in GPPs this week.
Patrick Mahomes @ MIA – $8,100
It is obviously a small sample size, but through the first two games, Mahomes is averaging his highest yards/attempt (7.6), TD rate (6.8%), and fantasy points/game (25.3) since 2022, the last time he finished as the overall QB1. The Chiefs are 10.5-point favorites on the road in Miami, and it is looking like Kenneth Walker may be the most popular player at any position on the slate. This presents the perfect opportunity to gain leverage on the field with Mahomes.
