Philip Rivers at Chicago Bears $5,500
They haven’t given me much of a reason to do so, but I’m quite attracted to the Colts offense against the Bears defense this week. Philip Rivers is averaging one touchdown for each interception this season but has still managed to throw over 20 passes and complete over 76% of them in each game this season which has been good enough to return at least 2x value in those games. While that hasn’t been good enough to yield a high-upside play in GPP contests, I think there’s still reason to have hope. This week, Rivers faces a Bears team that has been a nightmare for opposing quarterbacks this season, allowing an average of just 12.57 fantasy points per game to the position, the 2nd-fewest in the league. He won’t have Parris Campbell or Michael Pittman to target, but the upside still remains with the Colts producing the 8th-most 20+-yard passes this season, and the Bears allowing the 8th-most. If you’re feeling froggy, and are willing to stack a bit contrarian this week, Rivers and the Colts could yield quite the boom. The Colts are 2.5-point road favorites with an implied point total of 23.75 points.
