DraftKings GPP Picks for Week 1
The 2020 season is finally upon us and a 12-game Week 1 slate welcomes us back with socially distanced open arms. Here are my favorite plays (and a lineup) for DraftKings Week 1 GPP contests:
Quarterback
Cam Newton vs Miami Dolphins $6,100
In his first week as the Patriots starting quarterback, Cam Newton is priced at $6,100 as the QB11. While the pricing feels about right for a 31-year old quarterback less than a season removed from a serious foot injury, he’s facing a Dolphins team that allowed the third-most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks last season with 22.7, as well as the 10th-most rush yards last season. It’s unlikely we see Newton’s mobility in Week 1, but he’s always had a knack for making plays when it counts. Newton has something to prove and I think he will do just that in this squishy division matchup. The Patriots are 6.5-point favorites with an implied point total of 24.75 points.
