Week 4 Waiver Wire (Fantasy Football)
If you’re thinking that the fantasy football year has been weird so far, you’re not alone. Between big-name duds, injuries, and a shocking number of rookie or backup quarterback starters, 2019 hammers home the Fantasy Footballers‘ words of wisdom that you don’t win your league at your draft.
Some notable injuries from Week 3 include Saquon Barkley and T.Y. Hilton, two players who cost you high draft capital and who are incredibly difficult to replace on your roster. For a full breakdown of Week 3 injuries, check out Week 3 Fantasy Football Injury Recap that includes the type of injury sustained and an approximate timeline to return.
If you’re struggling with injury setbacks or upcoming bye-week blues, get your waiver wire shopping cart ready. Even if some of these players are already owned, you can consider them a worthy a target trade offers to get through the upcoming weeks.

WR
With injuries and new quarterback blood, there are a number of targets to choose from on the wire. Players like Sterling Shepard, Marvin Jones, Terry McLaurin, and Demarcus Robinson are probably owned with above 65% ownership, but it’s worth a peek in case your league mates dropped one of them to make room for other players.
Some notable WRs that stand out are D.J. Chark who is quickly becoming QB Gardiner Minshew’s favorite and more reliable target, Phillip Dorsett with Julian Edelman‘s injury, and the burgeoning rookie Diontae Johnson who has the least amount of ownership at only 4%.

For practically every 1.01 draft position who took Saquon Barkley… I am sorry. The running back position may have been hit the hardest with injuries so far this year. While this can be devastating for those fantasy owners who took players like Barkley, it may make otherwise muddy backfields a bit clearer. Unless, of course, one of your running backs plays for the San Francisco 49rs. Still, the touchdown prince of Week 2 and 3, Jeff Wilson Jr., is still largely available at only 4% owned and his counterpart Raheem Mostert remains at 53%.
If you are looking for safety rather than taking a shot at players like Wilson Jr., Mostert, or even Darrell Williams or Darwin Thompson, Frank Gore may still available at 57% ownership.
Although it may be early, the Ballers also dive into which players you may want to handcuff as the season progresses. Make sure you check out Week 4 Waiver Wire episode to get the Ballers’ opinion on these running backs, how much FAAB they would spend, and who they consider to be worthy of pick up or left on the wire.

It looks like firing up Big Montana, a.k.a. Will Dissly, is finally becoming a real thing. Excellent drop music aside, Dissly is seeing a higher volume of targets and consistently scoring touchdowns. If you have a deeper league, you may want to consider stashing Chris Herndon sooner rather than later. He returns to duty Week 6.
