Week 10 Fantasy Football Duds
When we experience disappointment we all cope in different ways. Some people want to shout, yell and throw things, others go to the gym, and occasionally a good cry is in order. If you are experiencing this level of disappointment I would hazard a guess that the fellows listed below had something to do with your pain. These are the fantasy football players who Pooped in Their Big Boy Pants in Week 10. You can listen to the guys talk through their pain on the podcast.
Quarterbacks
Tom Brady vs SEA
–316 passing yards, INT
The yardage was there and he almost vultured a goal line TD. Don’t do anything crazy.
Jay Cutler @ TB
-182 passing yards, TD, 2 INTs, fumb lost
Jay Cutty isn’t a good QB, but he was a popular cheap DFS play. I will say that Cutler can throw a pretty Hail Mary.
Carson Wentz vs ATL
-231 passing yards, 10 rushing yards, fumb lost
I think we (and Philadelphia) expected too much too soon from Wentz.
Running Backs
Carlos Hyde @ AZ
-13 carries, 14 rushing yards
Hyde was slowed by an injury in a tough matchup.
DuJuan Harris @ AZ
-5 carries, 14 rushing yards
The return of a hobbled Hyde to the lineup put Harris on the back burner. Tough day all around for this backfield.
Ty Montgomery @ TEN
–3 carries, 9 yards, 2 receptions, 11 receiving yards
He disappointed as a RB and a WR. I fear with the return of James Starks that Montgomery is going to be relegated to his role as the #4 WR and gadget play guy.
Christine Michael @ NE
-5 carries, 22 rushing yards, 1 reception, 4 receiving yards
Dealing with an injury, Michael only played 11 snaps. Worse still C.J. Prosise looked good in his place, and Thomas Rawls is expected back next week. Goodnight C-Mike.
Jonathan Stewart vs KC
-13 carries, 39 rushing yards
13 touches just isn’t going to get it done.
Wide Receivers
Brandon Marshall vs LA
–4 receptions, 15 receiving yards, 6 targets
Put your hands together for Bryce Petty and the Heartbreakers! On a more serious note, I sincerely apologize if you were somehow forced to watch any part of this game.
Randall Cobb @ TEN
–4 receptions, 31 receiving yards, 8 targets
Cobb was the 3rd wheel on limited snaps as Nelson and Adams stole the show.
Alshon Jeffery @ TB
-4 receptions, 47 receiving yards, 9 targets
Jeffery must be frustrated with the horrid QB play in Chicago. He is losing a lot of potential money in his next contract.
DeAndre Hopkins @ JAX
-5 receptions, 48 receiving yards, 13 targets
Without his name value, Hopkins is barely startable at this point. I’d have to watch the tape, but I doubt that many of his 13 targets were of even decent quality.
Mike Evans vs CHI
-4 receptions, 66 receiving yards, 5 targets
Tampa Bay scored 36 points in this game. They didn’t need their #1 WR.
Terrelle Pryor @ BAL
-5 receptions, 48 receiving yards, 9 targets
Full disclosure, I didn’t watch a single snap of this game. Doesn’t look like I missed much.
John Brown vs SF
-2 receptions, 30 receiving yards, 4 targets, 10 rushing yards
J.J. Nelson vs SF
–2 receptions, 29 receiving yards, 6 targets, fumb lost
On a day when Fitzgerald tied a career high in targets and even Michael Floyd got involved, the speedsters John Brown and J.J. Nelson were marginalized.
Michael Thomas vs DEN
–4 receptions, 40 receiving yards, 6 targets, 2 fumb lost
I think it is safe to chalk this one up to a bad matchup.
Allen Hurns vs HOU
–2 receptions, 13 receiving yards, 7 targets
After missing practice time during the week, Hurns had to deal with Bortles who has been awful IRL. It’s hard to be confident in anything this offense is doing.
Tight Ends
Jordan Reed vs MIN
–2 receptions, 41 receiving yards, 4 targets
Greg Olsen vs KC
–5 receptions, 39 receiving yards, 8 targets
Gary Barnidge @ BAL
–1 reception, 8 receiving yards, 3 targets
Coby Fleener vs DEN
-2 receptions, 26 receiving yards, 2 targets
Travis Kelce @ CAR
–3 receptions, 31 receiving yards, 6 targets, 2 pt conv
Rob Gronkowski vs SEA
-3 receptions, 56 receiving yards, 6 targets
I’m going to let you in on a little secret that we in the “industry” keep pretty close to the vest… Come closer… All Tight Ends are Barfy Tight Ends. I know, right?! Mind Blown.
Kickers/Defense/Special Teams
Packers Defense @ TEN
-47 PA, 2 sacks, no turnovers
Packers looked stunned on defense. This was a unit that was ill prepared for what the Titans brought to the table.
Minnesota Defense @ WAS
–26 PA, 1 sack, 1 fumb rec
Sometimes defenses struggle on the road, but this Vikings team had looked like an exception.
NFL Kickers
Kickers missed another 7 field goals and 6 more extra points in Week 10. Seriously, what do you guys do all week?
Dishonorable Mentions
Matt Ryan @ PHI
–267 passing yards, TD, INT
Carson Palmer vs SF
-376 passing yards, TD, 2 INTs, 16 rushing yards
Todd Gurley @ NYJ
-21 carries, 64 rushing yards, 1 reception, 8 receiving yards
Mark Ingram vs DEN
-11 carries, 50 rushing yards, 2 receptions, 13 receiving yards
James White vs SEA
–2 carries, 5 rushing yards, 4 receptions, 32 receiving yards
Emmanuel Sanders @ NO
–5 receptions, 54 receiving yards, 9 targets
Jarvis Landry @ SD
–6 receptions, 53 receiving yards, 6 targets
Mike Wallace vs CLE
–4 receptions, 59 receiving yards, 5 targets
C.J. Fiedorowicz @ JAX
-3 receptions, 26 receiving yards, 5 targets
