Fantasy Impact: This is going to be a bitterly cold game for Green Bay and the New York Giants. Some forecasts are calling for temperatures in the single-digits, but it looks like we’ll see temperatures in the low teens by kickoff.
The only thing that has seemed to stop Aaron Rodgers this year has been cold weather. Rodgers has thrown for at least 1 TD in every game except Week 15 in Chicago where temperatures “reached” 10 degrees. I doubt Rodgers gets blanked again, but it’s a tough matchup against the New York Giants defense in another bitterly cold game.
Eli Manning has only played in five games with temperatures below 30 degrees during his career. He’s averaged 237 yards passing while racking up 8 interceptions and only 4 TDs. Manning actually finds himself on familiar ground with a playoff matchup in frigid Green Bay. In 2008 he faced off against Brett Favre at Lambeau Field with a -1 degree temperature at kickoff. The New York Giants won although Manning failed to score a single TD while completing 21 of 40 pass attempts for 251 yards. Unless Odell Beckham Jr. can break loose for a long run after the catch, it might be a long day for Manning despite the juicy matchup against Green Bay’s secondary.
