The Fantasy Footballers’ Week 7 Starts
May your player byes not hurt you and your opponents byes be plentiful. Here are The Footballers’ Week 7 Starts from today’s episode:
Andy’s Starts
QB Kirk Cousins @ Detroit
The Lions defense has allowed a passer rating of 119.1 (204 Pass Attempts) this season. That’s dead last in the league. Detroit has allowed AT LEAST 2 passing TDs every week.
RB Spencer Ware vs New Orleans
Spencer Ware (KC) has averaged 7.1 yards from scrimmage Per Touch (646 Yards/91 Touches) this season. #1 in the league tied with Tevin Coleman.
WR Ty Montgomery vs Chicago
No Lacy, no Starks. Montgomery may get the majority of RB carries. He had 10-98 last week through the air. Green Bay needs to work him into this offense.
TE Jack Doyle @ Tennessee
O’ Doyle Rules! Doyle is the 8th best TE right now. He had 4-53 last week with a TD with no Dwayne Allen. No problem with him with Allen out.
Mike’s Starts
QB Blake Bortles vs Oakland
Pronounced with an Ortles! Oakland is crossing the entire country to the east coast. Oakland had multiple games giving up 4 TDs. I like the garbage man to take out the trash!
RB Jaquizz Rodgers @ San Francisco
San Francisco is allowing 174 rushing yards. 2nd worst? Miami at 147 yards. Doug Martin out for who knows how long. Rodgers went the ultimate beast mode with 35 touches last week.
WR Allen Robinson vs Oakland
The Beasles is averaging more points per game than ARob so I know the concern. ARob averages 8 PPR points on road, but18 PPR points at home. All of his TDs have been at home and he’s averaging double the receptions at home. Start ARob with confidence.
TE Travis Kelce vs New Orleans
NO has played 2 TEs of note-The SD Boys and Greg Olsen and New Orleans got crushed by both of those teams. It’s a good matchup this week.
Jason’s Starts
QB Andy Dalton vs Cleveland
I am playing him over Drew Brees in my personal league. I have him as the #2 QB this week against the hapless Browns. Could they run all over them and not need to pass? Sure. Could AJ Green just toy with them for 200 yards and 2 TDs? Absolutely. Not to mention it looks like they’ll have Eifert back for the goal line stuff. Yes sir! I will be sad if he stinks.
RB Tevin Coleman vs San Diego
I don’t like Coleman as a fantasy RB, don’t believe in him rest of season. He needs to have a kajillion yards through the passing game to be effective. That’s not going to happen very often, BUT… it’s going to happen this week. SD has given up the 29th most points to opposing RBs and yet they have never given up 100 yards on the ground to any team. Why? Receiving RBs tear them up. (Shout-out to Freeman too)
WR Tyrell Williams @ Atlanta
I’m playing SD Roulette! I think Trufant covers Travis Benjamin and Tyrell has a big week. Philip Rivers is going to be able to pass all over the Atlanta defense and this game has a high over under, and I’m willing to play with a bit of fire this week and go with Tyrell.
TE Kyle Rudolph @ Philadelphia
Philly’s #2 ranked pass defense against the TE is a sham. Cleveland with RGIII, Chicago with QB change halfway through the game, Pit on an off week, Detroit without Ebron, Washington without Reed. Plus, Sammy Biscuits is COMING HOME! REVENGE GAME!
Eric’s Starts
QB Marcus Mariota vs Indianapolis
I don’t disagree with any of the other QB starts, but I was surprised the Footballers didn’t nab Marcus Mariota. Mariota is coming off back-to-back 3 TD games, which may be a little flukish, but what caught my eye is his rushing yards. He’s had 7 rushes and 60 or more yards in each of his last two games. Against a shreddable Indianapolis defense that gives out 300 yard and/or 2 TD games to QBs like Halloween candy, I like Mariota’s prospects.
RB Mike Gillislee aka ‘TD Mike’ @ Miami
Miami is lousy against the run and Buffalo has a great run offense, which makes any RB in line to see touches a good target especially someone with 3 TDs on only 20 touches. With McCoy out, Gillislee is an RB2 and could easily put up top-10 RB fantasy stats.
WR Torrey Smith vs Tampa Bay
Smith was a name that fantasy players completely forgot about just before the season began. So far Smith has done little, but Kaepernick did look his way more than Gabbert had. Tampa Bay’s pass defense numbers don’t look bad, but they’ve faced Paxton Lynch and Derek Anderson, but even Case Keenum had a couple TDs against them. With Kaep starting his second game at home, Smith could finally put up a big game.
TE Gary Barnidge @ Cincinnati
Terrelle Pryor Sr. is banged up and may be out this game. Barnidge may be the only show in town against a Cincinnati defense that has been lit up through the air. Maximum Barnidge this week.
