The Fantasy Footballers’ Week 12 Starts
It’s Thanksgiving, my favorite holiday full of great food and football. Hopefully, you’re enjoying an inevitable march to playoff and championship glory. Here are The Footballers’ Week 12 Starts from today’s Megalodon episode!
Andy’s Starts
QB Ben Roethlisberger at Indianapolis
Yes, I know I trashed him last week, but I really really like the matchup with Indy, despite being on the road. Last 2 games against them 10 TD’s and zero picks, they need to win and the colts have given up 16 TDs to QB in last 7 games and never less than 2. He’s safe, he has upside, he has it all.
RB Rashad Jennings at Cleveland
Cleveland is 31st against the run. He’s trending in the right direction while Cleveland has given up 8 TD to RB in last 5 games. Here’s the yardage given up to RBs: 271 – 158 – 148 – 109 – 146 to RB in last 5! Yikes!
WR Rishard Matthews at Chicago
I’m staying in the flames with Matthews who is already up in the WR2 scoring for the year. Chicago has now given up the MOST fantasy points to WR on the year. Wheels fell off the pass defense. Matthews is the #4 fantasy WR since week 5, and #8 in FPPG. It’s an Au-To-Ma-Tic Start.
TE Zach Ertz vs Green Bay
8, 6, 6 catches the past three weeks. Last week he scored and had a huge play called back. It’s a great week and matchup vs. Green Bay, who was torched by Walker a couple weeks back. It’s Ertz’ time.
Mike’s Starts
QB Derek Carr vs Carolina
Carr’s been up and down, but he’s at home. The Panthers defense has been re-emerging, but Luke Kuechly is doubtful to play. I’m going to send in the car this week.
RB Frank Gore vs Pittsburgh
Cameron Heyward is out for Pittsburgh, onto IR. Andrew Luck is out, maybe Gore gets a little more work than usual. He’s a rushin’ for some TDs. Tolzien: “Frank Gore, please take the football away from me!”
WR Doug Baldwin Tampa Bay
Seattle getting the passing game on track. He has officially hit the ‘on fire’ status. He’s catching TDs, he’s throwing TDs, plays a bad TB pass defense.
TE Gary Barnidge vs New York Giants
Barnidge with and without McCown: 2/27 – 4/50. Giants pretty solid, but 20th against TE – allowed 368 yards to the TE the last 4 games. They can be beaten by TEs.
Jason’s Starts
QB Dak(ota) Prescott vs Washington
I’m staying in the flames with Dak Attack. He’s been absolutely on fire and Washington should make for a high-scoring matchup. Vegas has placed this game at a 50 over/under. He will keep up with Cousins and company.
RB Thomas Rawls at Tampa Bay
Not the bubble machine, the RAWLS ROYCE is upon us. He’s all alone in the backfield, he looked NASTY last week and he’s playing TB who have given up more than 100 yards on the ground 3 out of their last 4 weeks.
WR Julian Edelman at New York Jets
With or without Gronk (but especially without) he’s going to be used. Last year when the Patriots played the Jets they basically ran through the air. That’s Julian Edelman’s game. Last week he had 17 targets. Sign me up.
TE Kyle Rudolph vs Detroit
He’s been hot then cold then hot then cold last week… well he’s about to heat up again on Turkey day against the 2nd worst team in the league against TE, DEEtroit. A TE has scored in 7/10 games against Detroit.
Eric’s Starts
QB Ryan Fitzpatrick vs New England
I really didn’t want to go with Fitz. Fitz seemed like a good name, but I couldn’t bring myself to put it on paper for hours. I just think he has a good matchup against New England, home-field advantage, and a bye week to prepare. I think the Jets put together a competent offense and get Fitz to look more like his 2015 self when he threw for 591 yards, 5 TDs, and 0 picks against New England in their two matchups.
RB Chris Ivory at Buffalo
The Jags offense has been atrocious especially the running game, but Yeldon is questionable for this game, which leaves Ivory. As bad as the Jags have been running the ball, Ivory has exceeded 100 yards from scrimmage each time he’s seen 15 or more touches. Ivory racked up 216 yards from scrimmage as a Jet last year in his two meetings with Buffalo. He should approach 100 yards and punch one in this week.
WR Jamison Crowder at Dallas
Talk about staying in the flames. This is the third straight week with Crowder as my start, but he’s rewarded owners brave enough to start him with 100 yards receiving and/or a TD in five straight games. This should be a high-scoring and epic divisional game against Dallas. Dallas has given up the most fantasy PPR to receivers out of the slot while Crowder runs 73% of his routes from the slot according to @ScottBarrettDFB on Twitter so I’m going straight back to the well with Crowder and ride that lightning.
TE Will Tye at Cleveland
Cleveland is terrible against TEs. Tye has seen 20 targets over the last three weeks. I hate trusting any New York Giants offensive players for fantasy purposes, but it’s a great opportunity.
Jason Moore’s Ironclad, Lock-and-Loaded 100% Guaranteed ‘Boom Boom Kicker of the Week’
After the disaster that was last week’s kicking performances across the league, Jason’s algorithm blew up. No Boom Boom Kicker of the Week this Week.
