Fantasy Football: Start/Sit Decisions for Week 3
Every week, The Fantasy Footballers ask followers on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook, who fantasy football owners are having the toughest Sit/Start decisions on. Get assistance with The Fantasy Footballers Sit/Start tool — based on Andy, Jason, and Mike‘s weekly rankings. Here are the three of the most popular requests for Week 3:
#1 Corey Clement or Latavius Murray?
RB Corey Clement
Philadelphia Eagles vs Indianapolis Colts
Consensus: 28 / Andy: 35 / Jason: 27 / Mike: 19
RB Latavius Murray
Minnesota Vikings vs Buffalo Bills
Consensus: 23 / Andy: 28 / Jason: 22 / Mike: 25
After Jay Ajayi and Dalvin Cook were ruled out early on Friday, fantasy owners want to know which replacement makes for a better start in Week 3. Neither have intimidating matchups but the majority goes to Murray according to rankings and projected points. Murray was the RB9 overall from Weeks 10-17 last season with Cook out. The offense has shown no signs of slowing down with Cousins taking over. On Thursday’s episode of The Fantasy Footballers, Mike named Corey Clement as one of his Starts of the Week. However, he was added to the injury report on Friday (quad). Early report from NFL’s Tom Pelissero is that Clement “should be fine” for Sunday and that he was limited as a precaution. With Carson Wentz is back to run the offense, if Clement is healthy, he has upside behind the Eagles Offensive Line.
#2 Latavius Murray or Matt Breida?
RB Latavius Murray
Minnesota Vikings vs Buffalo Bills
Consensus: 23 / Andy: 28 / Jason: 22 / Mike: 25
RB Matt Breida
San Fransico 49ers @ Kansas City Chiefs
Consensus: 20 / Andy: 22 / Jason: 19 / Mike: 20
The result of this one isn’t close but if you look at individual rankings and projections, these two players aren’t that far off. So if you have a gut feeling- go with that. Entering Week 3, Matt Breida led the league in rushing yards. He plays the Chiefs, and we’ve seen the Chiefs do two things- give up points and put up points. These things lead to Breida being one of Andy’s Starts of the Week. Murray gets the full workload with Cook out and McKinnon gone. As mentioned earlier, he was the RB9 from Weeks 10-17 last year. That was with McKinnon around and the Vikings offense looks great with Cousins.
#3 Eric Ebron or Trey Burton?
TE Eric Ebron
Indianapolis Colts @ Philadelphia Eagles
Consensus: 9 / Andy: 14 / Jason: 8 / Mike: 8
RB Trey Burton
Chicago Bears @ Arizona Cardinals
Consensus: 12 / Andy: 12 / Jason: 12 / Mike: 10
Tight End battle! Eric Ebron hasn’t been playing a ton of snaps but scored a TD in each of the first two games. Now, fellow Colts TE, Jack Doyle, has been ruled Out for Week 3 with a hip injury. The opportunity is certainly there for Ebron, with a great QB in Andrew Luck, who also likes target the TE. “Trey Boo Boo” found the endzone in Week 2, but QB Mitch Trusbisky’s ability (or lack of) has fantasy owners worried. Andy isn’t as hopeful on Ebron as Jason and Mike, but look closely and you’ll see that the two players are only two spots apart in his individual ranks.
