Welcome back to the weekly Targets Per Route Run Report, and thanks for making it part of your weekly prep. Let’s look back at the games just played and see where that points us for Week 9 and beyond.

Quick refresher: TPRR = targets ÷ routes run. It’s an on-field efficiency signal that often leads production by a week or two. Throughout this series, if you see a percentage after a player’s name, that is his TPRR unless otherwise indicated.

As a general guideline, ~20% is considered a baseline; 25–30% is excellent, and anything above 30% is elite territory.

  • Khalil Shakir had his best fantasy day of the season and was targeted on a whopping 44% of his routes. The Bills didn’t have to do much through the air against Carolina, and we can expect to see Josh Allen attempt more than 19 passes against Kansas City this week. Despite the standout performance, Shakir hasn’t shown the consistency you can rely on. In Week 8, Buffalo was without Joshua Palmer, and Dalton Kincaid was barely on the field (22% snap share). Shakir’s Weekly Consistency Snapshot, available in Footclan HQ, has not been great. He’s still a WR3 coin flip most weeks, but he becomes startable if multiple receiving options are out in a given week.

Khalil Shakir stat line

  • Since Houston’s Week 6 bye, CJ Stroud has attempted 49 and 39 passes. I’m not buying into Braxton Berrios or Jaylin Noel until either shows they can consistently be on the field, and the return of Nico Collins may render each of them completely irrelevant. However, Jayden Higgins (21%) is a rookie to watch in the second half of the season, especially if Christian Kirk continues to struggle with injuries.

The Season So Far

  • Jauan Jennings (18% TPRR) has been inconsistent this season but has posted back-to-back weeks of a TPRR over 23%. He climbs 11 spots in the season TPRR rankings and is a player I would be willing to trust if Brock Purdy returns as expected and Ricky Pearsall remains sidelined, even if Jennings is behind Christian McCaffrey and George Kittle in the pecking order.
  • Quentin Johnston has been a huge letdown after a red-hot start to the season. The issue for QuuuJ (sp?) isn’t the game script; it’s that Tre’ Harris has come on as of late. In Week 8, Johnston played 52% of snaps compared to Harris’ 59%. With Johnston’s deep ball role under threat, he is looking like a tough player to trust for the rest of the season.

That’s it for this week. The full lists are provided below, starting with Week 6 and followed by the season so far. Feel free to ask any questions about specific players in the comments.
