NFL Week 2 Weather Conditions (Fantasy Football)
I’ve never been one of those people who understand the discomfort around the word “moist”…until last Sunday.
Rain and moist conditions throughout much of the east coast caused impacts to several games throughout the day. Most notably in the Sunday Night Game between the Cowboys and the Giants. The good news is that this weekend overall looks to have less weather impacts than week 1. However there are a few games that will still have to contend with Mother Nature, let’s gaze into our crystal ball and see what this weekend has in store.
Remember – games in domes are always rated “Low”! If there is weather inside a dome, there are some pretty big problems.
Early Afternoon Games
Las Vegas Raiders @ Buffalo Bills
LOW impact. Light winds in the 5-7 mph range with a high temp of 71 degrees. There’s a small possibility of rain near the end of the game, but nothing substantial to cause issues. Play with confidence!
Chicago Bears @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
MEDIUM impact. Expect rain showers on and off throughout the game, especially after halftime. There’s going to be some thunderstorms around the area that will also bring some heavier rains if they move over the stadium. Also, the heat index (temperature and humidity impact) is going to be near 100 degrees near kickoff.
Baltimore Ravens @ Cincinnati Bengals
LOW impact. High’s in the mid 70s with a light northerly wind, potential for some minor late afternoon rain showers but similarly to the Buffalo game, nothing substantial to worry about.
Los Angeles Chargers @ Tennesse Titans
LOW impact. Winds in the high singles digits, largely sunny with a high near 80. Nice football weather!
Kansas City Chiefs @ Jacksonville Jaguars
MEDIUM impact. Expect rain, some thunderstorms, and a high heat index of 101. Throughout the Jacksonville area will be quite a few thunderstorms, hopefully most of them avoid the stadium because this game could get soaked.
Late Afternoon Games
Washington Commanders @ Denver Broncos
LOW impact. High temp in the mid-80s, with winds in the single digits. Great weather for a great game?
Sunday Night Game
Miami Dolphins @ New England Patriots
MEDIUM impact. It’s shaping up to be another MOIST (ugh) night in the Northeast. Looking like rain will start early on and persist throughout much of the game. I’m not expecting a downpour of rain, it’ll be more of the persistent annoying kind of rain we saw last week during Sunday Night Football.
Monday Night Game(s!)
New Orleans Saints @ Carolina Panthers
MEDIUM impact. Good news? There will be light winds and temps will be in the high 60s throughout most of the game. Bad news, expecting rain throughout most of (it not all) the game. You’ll likely have deja vu’ watching this game after watching Sunday night’s game.
Cleveland Browns @ Pittsburgh Steelers
LOW impact. Unfortunately there will be some intermittent rain during the game, however I don’t think it will be significant during game time. No issues with the wind or the temperature during the game.
Remember that weather, just like football, is a dynamic thing and can change! Good luck!
