Welcome to Week 16. This week has a little bit of everything. A handful of young RBs are taking over their backfields. We have a weather game in Denver with very low temps and snow likely. We’ve got Arthur Smith continuing to vex fantasy football managers while losing in impressive fashion.
Good luck this week and remember to check out some of the other weekly articles that come out that can help you make tough decisions. Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas. Good luck this week!
Question #1 – Start/Sit
Is chase brown worth a filler in over justice hill or roschon johnson? – TheSack
Answer: Chase Brown has been getting a lot of attention lately while showcasing big-play ability. The problem is volume. He’s still a distant second to Joe Mixon in touches and Mixon is still dominating red zone touches. Roschon Johnson may be amid a changing of the guard in Chicago. It’s still a nasty RB committee situation in Chicago, but Johnson has been the only one demonstrating any rushing efficiency and he’s seeing useful targets. Baltimore is great at getting RBs in the end zone, but it’s something of a mystery which ones get in.
Choosing the right RB in this situation is pretty close to a toss-up. I think the “safest” RB is Roschon. With D’Onta Foreman banged up and Khalil Herbert struggling, I think Roschon gets enough volume to have decent fantasy points. If I need a guy to have a big day in a “go big or go home” matchup, I’m going with Justice Hill. The Footballers have Roschon ranked the highest, but they’re all pretty close.
Question #2 – Start/Sit
Breece Hall or Joe Mixon? Purdy or Josh Allen – Adam20
Answer: These should be pretty straightforward. I love Breece Hall‘s talent but he’s been boom or bust. Mixon has been awesome especially of late with four TDs in his last three games. The problem for Mixon is his last game against Pittsburgh was saved by two receptions that went for 44 scoreless yards. Man…my brain is saying Mixon, but I just have a feeling Hall is going to bounce back in a big way with a plus matchup against Washington’s porous defense. I go Hall.
Allen completed seven passes and still had a fantasy day that didn’t crush teams. Allen is also the QB1 on the year. Allen should be an instant start normally, but it’s a no-brainer with Purdy lining up across a very very good Baltimore defense.
Question #3 – Waivers
Should I pick up Chase from waivers just in case for 17? – Mrekk Jr
Answer: Yes and yes. I’m not sure if Ja’Marr Chase is available and was dropped because of injury or if this is in reference to Chase Brown who would be a smash hit in Week 17 if Joe Mixon was out. Either way, it’s worth a waiver add.
Question #4 – Start/Sit
Bench any of chandler, diggs, or Gibbs for Bijan? – TankDellSZN
Answer: Man, I am not a fan of Arthur Smith. How he’s managed to take an offense packed with firepower and turned it into a harmless puppy is beyond me. Stefon Diggs, recent struggles aside is a must-start. Jahmyr Gibbs is now getting the touches necessary to be a weekly plug-and-play. The debate is Ty Chandler and Bijan Robinson. I was not high on Chandler last week and took it right on the chin, but I’m going to do it again. I would play Bijan over Chandler this week.
Question #5 – Start/Sit
Does Start one Ekeler or Mostert ? – Probably.peter
Start one Ekler, Ford or Achane? – StikkyGreenLex
Answer: These two happened to show up back-to-back on Discord. I’m taking the Miami RBs everywhere I can. Buffalo, who is not necessarily known for their ability to rush just ran all over Dallas to the tune of 266 yards. What do you think Mike McDaniel is going to do this week? There’s enough meat on the bone for both Raheem Mostert and De’Von Achane to rack up fantasy points. Austin Ekeler just can’t be trusted when you have another good option sadly.
