Nearing return to practice
Coach Jon Gruden believes Mariota (quadriceps) will return to practice this week, Adam Hill of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
Mariota has spent the first five weeks of the season on injured reserve with the quadriceps issue, but he's apparently close to receiving the return designation and taking the practice field. It remains to be seen whether the 27-year-old is back in time to suit up for Sunday's matchup with the Broncos, but he appears to be in the final stages of his recovery.
