NFL DFS FanDuel GPP Picks Week 4 (Fantasy Football)

Building winning GPP lineups, by definition, is tough. There are, however, some key things to look for when filling out your roster. First and foremost is ceiling, we want the players with potential to score the most points. Next is leverage; we want the players that fall through the cracks. Finally, we have to build a lineup that tells a winning story through game script and stacking.

A final note before diving into the picks. Don’t ignore the Cash Picks article put out by Julia Papworth. Her article pairs perfectly with my GPP picks, as it’s typically a good idea to mix in some value plays, especially if they fit the GPP-winning story you write. 

With four weeks of data behind us, let’s dive into Week 5.

Quarterbacks

Jared Goff @ CIN – $7,800

With the highest team implied total on the slate (30) and a 4.0 Game Pace Score (GPS), is Goff poised to repeat his Week 2 QB1 performance? I’m certainly willing to find out, as the Bengals rank 31st in fantasy points above expectation (PAE) allowed to QBs. He’s also featured as an option in Julia’s Cash Picks article, but with him currently showing up as rostered at around 3% in the optimizer, he also makes sense in GPPs on this smaller slate. Not to mention, Goff has been great so far this season, completing 73.6% of his passes and throwing TDs at a 7.4% clip. I want to make sure I’m overweight the field on Goff this week.
