NFL DFS FanDuel Cash Picks: Week 1 (Fantasy Football)

Each week I’ll highlight my favorite cash game picks that I have some confidence heading into the weekend to put into my player pools. For more on cash game strategy and the mechanics of it, make sure you listen to our DFS Cash Overview episode. On the Fantasy Footballers DFS Podcast, Betz and myself will dive into a couple of these but this article is intended for DFS Pass subscribers to get the full lay of the land.

Quarterbacks

I’m not messing around in Week 1 trying to find the cheap QB in cash. Paying up may not sound enticing but QB had the strongest correlation in terms of salary & FD points last year of the positions. I’m betting that holds true again in Week 1. Let everyone else go bargain hunting. Remember in cash we want our opponents to be the ones to make mistakes while we limit the number of positions we have to “get right”. Fewer decisions in cash is a good thing.

Patrick Mahomes vs. CLE- $8,800

I mentioned in the First Look article but Mahomes still projects as the best point per dollar (3.5) QB coming in at a better value on FanDuel relative to the other QBs on the slate. A reminder that QBs are bunched together on FD in a way where paying up makes sense. The Chiefs have the highest team implied total (29.5) on this slate and with their pass rate hovering near 63 percent, the points are going to come via Mahomes.
