NFL DFS DraftKings GPP Picks: Week 1 (Fantasy Football)

For the purposes of this article, I’ll be highlighting plays that I believe have upside for large field GPPs at reduced roster percentages, but that doesn’t mean we can’t sprinkle in some cash plays into our GPP lineups as well. In fact, most of the best tournament lineups feature some combination of high rostered plays as well as lower rostered plays. When building your GPP lineups, be sure to reference our Roster Percentage Report as well as our DFS Rankings in order to identify plays who have a solid projection yet may be undervalued by the field. In order to compete in GPPs, we’ll want to utilize a combination of cash plays and GPP plays in order to build solid lineups without sacrificing too much in the way of projection. Quarterback

C.J. Stroud $7,500 @ IND
Gus Bradley must have voted for Stroud to win Offensive Rookie of the Year after the former Ohio State Buckeye made Bradley’s defense look like Swiss Cheese in their two meetings. Stroud carved up Indy for a combined 8.9 YPA (!!!) and a 4:0 TD-to-INT ratio in their two games played last year, and PFF has this secondary ranked as a bottom five unit entering the 2024 campaign. In addition to the plus matchup, Stroud’s offensive line should be much healthier, especially in Week 1, than it was last year. With the Colts willing to play fast under Shane Steichen, we should see plenty of play volume in this one and logic suggests the Texans will up their pass rate after they acquired Diggs this off-season. Being played inside Indy’s dome, this AFC South matchup has real shootout appeal, bringing Stroud stacks into play. Just be mindful, however, that Stroud + Nico + Diggs in particular is a whopping $21,200 (42%) of your allotted salary, making it a bit cost prohibitive.
