Locked-In Cash Plays
Borg – At TE, I’m locking in my dude Tyler Warren. He is going to be a chain-mover this week against the Rams who utilize single-high safety looks 61% of the time. Warren averaging a robust 13.6 yards per target against that look, the highest among all qualifying TEs. He leads all pass catchers in YAC and his salary remains tenable in the $4K range. He will be one of the most popular TEs and yet I don’t want to mess around with the other options in cash.
Betz – Will Christian McCaffrey be healthy in Week 12? Who knows! But he is now, and the workload is simply unreal. He’s currently on pace for a career high in touches while averaging 28 opportunities per game. Kittle and Aiyuk, of course, remain out and now Jauan Jennings and Ricky Pearsall are both Questionable. He’s expensive, but his price tag on both sites doesn’t even begin to reflect his role.
DraftKings Core Plays
These are the 3-5 players at each position we have mixed in our cash player pool. Based on salaries, late news, and budget constraints, it is guaranteed you will not be able to fit in all of them. But their high floors and team-implied totals make them great plays for the week in both cash & GPPs.
These are simply in order of favorite core players. You obviously won’t be able to fit all in a cash lineup and there are salary tradeoffs for paying up at each position.
| DraftKings-QB | BORG | BETZ |
| 1 | Drake Maye | Drake Maye |
| 2 | Caleb Williams | Jaxson Dart |
| 3 | Marcus Mariota | Marcus Mariota |
| 4 | Patrick Mahomes | Caleb Williams |
| 5 | Jaxson Dart | Geno Smith |
It feels like we’ve been here before at QB: pay down. In cash builds, you likely are going to see the majority of Double-Ups drop below $6K with either Drake Maye, Marcus Mariota, or Geno Smith. Jaxson Dart is a little lower in our rankings compared to the rest of the DFS industry. It can work but we think there is already enough value to go around on this slate. Notice that all of those options are good at their price points but the ceiling outcomes for Jalen Hurts, Josh Allen, and Lamar Jackson can ultimately break a slate if these three are not going to be played a ton. Don’t forget about QB differentiators knowing all three can be played naked.
