Game Outlook
Week 4 in the NFL kicks off when the 2-1 Seahawks travel to the desert to take on the 2-1 Cardinals in an important NFC West primetime showdown featuring a middling 43.5 total. Through three weeks, we now have a bigger sample size on how these teams have played and their play calling tendencies. Seattle has done exactly what we thought they’d do entering the season – run the rock. The ‘Hawks rank 31st in pass rate over expectation with only the Jets ranking lower in that metric. Seattle is handing it off at the league’s eighth-highest rate when games are within one score, notable as this divisional matchup features just a 1.5-point spread. However, it is worth noting that the Cardinals have faced the second-highest neutral pass rate, and given their injuries in the secondary, perhaps we see Seattle try to attack more via the air. Worth noting, three straight teams have posted a positive weekly PROE mark against the Cardinals to open 2025. Even so, given the identity of this Seahawks’ team and Zach Charbonnet‘s health trending in a positive direction, I suspect we’ll continue to see a pretty balanced game plan from Kubiak’s Seahawks on Thursday night.
